INBA Danny Ghiglieri Shares 16-Week Natural Bodybuilding Contest Prep Transformation

INBA Danny Ghiglieri Shares 16-Week Natural Bodybuilding Contest Prep Transformation

INBA athlete Danny Ghiglieri shares a 16-week natural bodybuilding transformation from day one of contest prep to show day.
Before natural bodybuilding shows, competitors undergo a contest prep, cutting calories to get as lean as possible. But, of course, every competitor’s training, diet, and contest prep look different. International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA) athlete Danny Ghiglieri shared what it looks like to go from day one of contest prep to the day of a show 16 weeks out.
Danny Ghiglieri recently received his PNBA pro card after performing well in his natural bodybuilding debut show. At Ghiglieri’s INBA PNBA debut, he received second place in Amateur Novice Physique and second place in Amateur Open Physique. On Instagram, he compared a side-by-side photo of how he looked on day one of contest prep and show day 16 weeks later. Ghiglieri stated:
“My 16 week transformation in Natural Bodybuilding; Day 1 of prep — > Show Day. To boot, check out my 1 day transformation in not-so-natural tanning lol”
See Danny Ghiglieri’s full 16-week contest prep photos on Instagram below.

Contest Prep
Contest prepping is imperative for natural bodybuilders who want to outshine their competitor’s on show day. It’s a short cycle before a show when athletes will diet hard and cut weight to be as lean as possible for the competition their preparing for. Some bodybuilders will start their contest prep sooner or later than others. For example, Danny Ghiglieri started his prep 16 weeks out, while others may wait until 12 before a show.
And many athletes will follow a similar approach in terms of being in a caloric deficit and following a strict diet while prepping for shows, although each contender’s routine varies. For example, Kayla Rowling was eating five egg whites, five asparagus spears, and a handful of mushrooms for breakfast to prepare for the Worlds Championships in Florence, Italy, on June 25, 2022.
One thing a few natural bodybuilders have described during contest prep is the intensity and potential health consequences that follow. For instance, Amanda Martin said it leads to irritability, fatigue, and hormonal imbalances. And Ben Howard detailed his sleep disturbance after following a strict diet to prep his physique for the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF) lightweight division.
Natural Bodybuilding
Natural bodybuilding has many different federations, but the INBA PNBA is the largest federation and the only one to abide by the strictest drug testing standards–the World Anti Doping-Agency (WADA). Having WADA metrics ensures athletes’ safety–for those who obey the guidelines–and makes competition just for bodybuilders. Those who don’t are stripped of their title and prize money. Plus, they’re ridiculed in the Hall of Shame. Many natural bodybuilders in the INBA PNBA joined because of the fair and strict drug testing guidelines.
For example, PNBA Hall of Famer Chad Martin began competing in bodybuilding in 1999, but he quickly caught onto the fact that guys were starting to dope, giving them an unfair advantage. That’s when he did some research and found the INBA PNBA.

Iain Valliere Defends Hadi Choopan On Synthol News, Alleged Hany Rambod Texts Emerge: “Don’t Inject The Shoulders”

Iain Valliere Defends Hadi Choopan On Synthol News, Alleged Hany Rambod Texts Emerge: “Don’t Inject The Shoulders”

Iain Valliere commented on a recent Instagram post to defend fellow bodybuilder Hadi Choopan.
On Friday, pro bodybuilder Hadi Choopan’s former manager, Hadi Parsafar, claimed that Choopan has injected his muscles with synthol over the course of his career. Parsafar described Choopan as the “Synthol People’s Champion.” Now it seems like fellow pro bodybuilders are reacting to the claims. In a recent comment, Iain Valliere seems to be defending Choopan amid the synthol rumors.
Parsafar, and his brother Mahdi, made statements on Friday regarding this topic. Choopan and the Parsafar brothers parted ways when they were fired by the bodybuilder.  Bi’s and Tri’s Instagram shared a post explaining the incident and a comment from Valliere can be found defending Choopan.
“Lol like all everyone’s favourite 90’s bodybuilders weren’t filled to the absolute gills with esisclene, nolitol and SEO’s. This is bodybuilding, literally nothing about it is natural, and even lots of guys who aren’t obviously using it, still likely are.”

Iain Valliere has not earned his qualification to the 2022 Olympia just yet but is preparing to take the stage at the Vancouver Pro on July 17. He finished seventh in October at the biggest competition of the year. Valliere continues to explain in his comment how bodybuilding is a visual sport and Hadi Choopan is one of the best there is.
“This is a visual sport, there’s no bonus points for how hard you work or how you attain the look. Hadi is clearly one of the top bodybuilders on the planet, and one of the most popular. An ex manager trying to ruin his good name with this nonsense is petty and pathetic.”
Hadi Choopan has been a threat to the Olympia title since 2019, when he earned third place. He finished with the bronze once again last year, despite some believing he arrived with the best conditioning. There were many who believed that Choopan should have been crowned champion and he will work for that goal once again this year.

Hany Rambod Allegedly Tried To Stop Synthol Use
Hadi Parsafar also shared alleged messages between Choopan and Hany Rambod showing the coach asking to stop injecting the bodybuilder with this substance. Rambod has been quite instrumental in Choopan’s career as of late as his training coach – which coincide with his latest string of high placing Mr. Olympia showings.
“Team, Please tell Hadi to stop injecting his shoulders!
His right shoulder looks very swollen and bad.
The judges will mark him down!,” Hany Rambod wrote.
Rambod continues to ask to stop injections because the look will force the judges to deduct points. This comes after a response, which looks like an audio message.
“I have said this so many times. Don’t inject the shoulders.”

Iranian Hulk vs. Kazakh Titan Boxing Match Announced: All You Need To Know

Iranian Hulk vs. Kazakh Titan Boxing Match Announced: All You Need To Know

Iranian Hulk will make his debut in the ring against Kazakh Titan.
It has been two months since the fight between Iranian Hulk and Martyn Ford fell through. Now, Sajad Gharibi will make his debut in the ring against Djumanov Almat Bakhytovich later this month.
Iranian Hulk and Bakhytovich, known as Kazakh Titan, have been going back and forth on social media in recent weeks. Now, the two will be able to step in the ring on July 31 at the P7 Arena in the Media One Hotel in Dubai.
Gharibi was originally slated to settle his differences with Ford in the ring before it was called off. There was concern coming from Ford’s camp about Iranian Hulk’s mental health following an interview that surfaced showing Gharibi emotionally discussing his family. They were allegedly disappointed following a stare down between the two men.
Iranian Hulk has been back in the gym training for a fight and will now prepare for another personal bout with Kazakh Titan.

Iranian Hulk vs. Kazakh Titan Background
Iranian Hulk has been unable to get in the ring to this point but has had plenty of chances. Prior to signing his deal to take on Ford, Gharibi was initially going to make his debut in 2020 with Bare Knuckle FC.
At 6-foot-2, weighing over 175kg, Iranian Hulk has built a massive following on social media because of his unique physique. During his prep, Gharibi has shown off some insane methods to build strength in the different ways. This has allowed him to lose over 30 pounds, adding both a bit of speed and agility.
Like Iranian Hulk, Kazakh Titan is also a bodybuilder who has made his mark as an influencer. He is a champion in his home country, along with making many appearances on television.
Kazakh Titan may stand just 5-foot-7 but he weighs 115kg and is incredibly strong. He is able to bench press 150kg while deadlifting almost three times his bodyweight. Despite not competing in the ring, Kazakh Titan claims that he is an MMA master and has been waiting to make his debut. He has been calling out Iranian Hulk for quite some time now and the two seem prepared to do battle.
When a fight is made personal like this one, there is always some extra motivation for each side. The fact that each fighter will be making his debut is another element that can make this a must-see event.

Best Ab Exercises You’re Not Doing

Best Ab Exercises You’re Not Doing

The Most Underrated Ab Exercises You Should Be Doing
Abs are the unsexiest thing ever, said no one ever. Go around and ask people around you if they want abs. Most people will answer in a yes if they’re being honest. Over the years, a ripped set of abs has become the symbol of fitness.
Abs are one of the most desired muscles, and yet only a few people have the classic dashboard abs. Adding a few ab exercises to your arsenal can take your abdominal gains to the next level.
Reverse Crunches
Reverse crunches are the opposite of the orthodox crunches. The reverse crunches work the lower abs and can help you shed the lower belly fat and tone up the muscles. Lie down on an exercise mat with your torso facing the roof.
Place your hands under your hips and place your feet flat on the floor by bending your legs at the knees. Breathe in, lift your legs off the floor and bring your knees to your chest. Return to the starting position while exhaling and contracting your abdomen.
Landmine Twists
The obliques are one of the most overlooked muscles when it comes to ab training. The obliques are the fish gill-like muscles on the side of your abs. A set of abs can’t be deemed complete without a pair of chiseled obliques.
Place one end of a barbell in a corner so that it doesn’t move as you perform the exercise. Grab the other end with both your hands and hold it in front of your chest. While keeping your elbows locked in a position, twist your torso to your right side without turning your lower body. Return to the starting position and repeat on your left side.
Ab Wheel
Ab wheel is one of the most insane ab exercises and will set your abdomen on fire. The key to having a six pack is to have a strong core and the ab wheel can help you achieve a rock-solid midriff.
Get in position by kneeling down on the floor and holding the ab wheel with both your hands. Bend over and place the wheel on the floor so your arms are perpendicular to the floor. While keeping your core tight, roll the wheel forward until your arms and torso are fully stretched out. Return to the starting position and repeat for the recommended reps.
Decline Bench Crunches
Most people treat their ab training like accessory work and thrown in a few sets of crunches at the end of their workouts. If you want a shredded abdomen, you’ll have to prioritize ab training and add new exercises to your arsenal.
Decline bench crunches can prove brutal for your upper abs and can help unwrap the abs from underneath the fat. Sit on a decline bench, take a deep breath and go down until your back touches the bench. Return to the starting position while breathing out and repeat for the recommended reps.
TRX Knee Tucks
If you haven’t tried the TRX knee tucks, you are leaving a lot of ab gains on the table. The TRX helps in improving core stability, strength, and conditioning. We should also acknowledge the fact using the TRX looks completely badass.
Get into a planking position on the floor and place your feet inside the TRX loops. Get the help of a spotter if you’re a beginner. Your body should be in a straight line at the starting position. While keeping your core tight, bring your knees to your chest. Return to the starting position while breathing out and contracting your abs.

Secrets To Getting Shredded Like A True American!

Secrets To Getting Shredded Like A True American!

[embedded content]

Forget the gurus. Here’s tips from a jacked all American war vet.
Weight loss can be a tricky thing to manage. For bodybuilders who are more concerned with building muscle than anything else, fat loss is a bit less of an issue. But nevertheless, if you want to show off all you muscle and hard work then eventually you’ll have to drop your body fat percentage a bit. When it comes to losing fat, most people scour the internet looking for experts and gurus that can help in their mission to rid themselves of their pesky love handles.
Truth be told, sometimes you don’t want to deal with the hassle of reading a 20 page breakdown about what you should or should not eat, how you should be hitting the weights, what percentages of carbs, fats, and proteins your should consume. Sometimes you need a straight forward approach that will get you the info you seek ASAP.
Well, it seems like Derek Weida has the same idea about reaching your weight loss goals. Weida, a veteran of the United States Army, was wounded during service and lost his leg as a result of his injuries. Despite all that, the man is still a total bad ass that’s taken his loss and used it to fuel his motivation to become the best version of himself he could possibly be. Derek doesn’t have any use for excuses and neither should you. He’s an American hero and is proud to flaunt that fact, and why the hell not? The man is an inspiration and he’s looking to be the same for others looking to improve themselves.
Sometimes some good old bro-science can be the key to all your weight loss troubles. The best part? He hasn’t lost any of his sense of humor either. Sometimes bodybuilding can get so serious – but take a listen to Mr. Weida’s over-the-top red, white, and blue advice to reap the benefits of some straight forward knowledge.
All joking aside – those last moments of the video show Derek’s true colors. It’s all about finding ways to stay consistent and better yourself. It’s not about today – it’s about the tomorrow you want. Derek might crack jokes and be blunt – but maybe taking the seriousness out of dieting and lifting can help other people get more comfortable and confident about leading a fitter lifestyle.
What do you think of Derek Weida’s approach to bodybuilding and weight loss? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to follow Generation Iron on Facebook and Twitter.

Former Manager Claims Hadi Choopan Injects Synthol To Improve His Physique

Former Manager Claims Hadi Choopan Injects Synthol To Improve His Physique

Hadi Choopan’s former manager, Mahdi Parsafar, and his brother, Hadi Parsafar, have posted damning claims against the bodybuilder.
Hadi Choopan’s former manager, Hadi Parsafar, has claimed that Choopan injects his physique with synthol – calling Choopan the “Synthol People’s Champion” in an Instagram post. This claim was made after the managing brothers Hadi and Mahdi parted ways with the bodybuilder, allegedly due to Choopan firing the Parsafar brothers.
Hadi Parsafar shared an Instagram story on Friday afternoon sharing the news. He also shared a reel on social media explaining further.

Sources close to Generation Iron were able to translate the message:
“I don’t want to waste time with Mr. Synthol and homeless. He has to come to the court and answer questions. He wants to get YouTube channel but you bury this wish.”
– Hadi Parsafar
The above comment appears to reference Hadi Choopan’s YouTube channel. The channel was run by Mahdi and Hadi Parsafar and was in fact originally Mahdi’s channel before he re-branded it as Choopan’s upon managing him.
Eventually Mahdi took the channel back and, allegedly, received sudden take down notices from Hadi Choopan. This seems to have happened shortly after Choopan allegedly fired the managing brothers.

In the following story post – Hadi Parsafar simply calls Hadi Choopan the “Synthol People’s Champion.”
Mahdi Parsafar was the long time manager of Hadi Choopan alongside his brother. Not only that, but Mahdi and Choopan were known to be longtime friends since childhood. Mahdi Parsafar put his focus on putting Iranian bodybuilding onto the global stage. Choopan was the shining highlight of his achievements as a manager and his goal to represent Iran as a powerhouse nation for pro bodybuilding.
Hadi Choopan’s Rise In Bodybuilding
Hadi Choopan first started catching attention as an incredible Men’s 212 bodybuilder. Many thought he would be talented enough to defeat the then reigning Olympia champion – Flex Lewis. This battle never came to fruition and Lewis ultimately retired from the sport. And Choopan ultimately had his eyes set on a different sort of prize.
Hadi Choopan shocked the bodybuilding world when he made his debut Men’s Open debut on the Olympia stage in 2019. Even more surprising was that he earned a third place finish. Despite having an overall smaller size and frame – his conditioning was so on point and his aesthetics so impressive – that he earned a place as a true threat to the Mr. Olympia title.
Choopan later returned to the stage in 2020 and dropped one spot before returning to the top-three in 2021. Despite his finish, there are many that believe Choopan should have been crowned champion in October.
Choopan finished third behind Brandon Curry and two-time reigning champion Big Ramy. There is a clear top-tier of competitors and Choopan is part of that group. Hunter Labrada and Nick Walker are looking to insert their names into the conversation after a fourth- and fifth-place finish respectively.
Choopan is coached by Hany Rambod, who has handled some of the top talents in bodybuilding history. This include seven-time Olympia champ Phil Heath. Rambod led the charge of those who believed that Choopan sported the best physique on stage in last year’s competition.
Previous Hadi Choopan Synthol Rumors
After the 2021 Mr. Olympia, rumor began to spread that Hadi Choopan was using synthol to improve his physique – specifically in his delts. While there was no proof, internet sleuths took to the internet to compare photos and try to validate their claims.
Hadi Parsafar’s latest statements seem to be the first “insider” accusation of Hadi Choopan using synthol. While his brother, Mahdi, did not make the exact same comment – both brothers have been posting on their instagram revealing the sudden fractured nature of their relationship with Choopan.

Below is a translation of Mahdi’s description for the video posted above:
“Time passed and history repeats! Parsafar will not pay a ransom to someone bigger than you! Because it’s not dependent on anyone! And his band has been and is in his own pocket and raised thousands of people! You didn’t learn from the past! Wait for a long response.”
