How Will Michal Krizo Stack Up to Top Athletes in the IFBB Pro League?

How Will Michal Krizo Stack Up to Top Athletes in the IFBB Pro League?

Can Michal Krizo compete with the best of the best.
Ever since announcing that he’ll be competing in the NPC, many have wondered if Michal Krizo could compete with the top pros in the IFBB Pro League. While there are indeed many talented pros in Krizo’s previous federation, many have wondered how he stacks up against the best of the best. Luckily we’ll have an answer to that question soon. Before that however, let’s do a little analysis on Krizo’s physique and his potential.
Michal Krizo has decided to make the move to the IFBB Pro League and it’s definitely had raised quite a few questions. Of course many of the best bodybuilders in the world compete in the IFBB Pro League. It’s the reason so many individuals have been crossing over from other federations. Those who wish to be considered the best of the best aim to compete in the IFBB Pro League because they know doing so will give them the opportunity to etch their name in the history books. Krizo joined for that very reason and as such he’ll have the opportunity to prove himself. But how exactly does he stack up against the best of the best?
When you consider the current top five bodybuilders in the Olympia, it’s clear that Michal Krizo belongs. Having out dueled the likes of Blessing Awodibu who is Olympia bound, Krizo has the ability to really shake things up in Men’s Open Bodybuilding. So how does Krizo stack up? Let’s take a closer look.
From The Front
From the front side shots Michal Krizo looks truly impressive. His front double bicep and most muscular poses are really dominant. He has massive amounts of muscle and is very detailed in every pose. From his arms to his legs, the definition on display from the front makes Krizo one of the most talented bodybuilders out there. He also has a pretty slim waist which makes his lats look even more impressive in the front double bicep.

From The Back
From the back we see a bit of weaknesses. Michal Krizo has an impressive back, but there’s still room from growth in this department. He has some gaps he could fill in to really bring up his dominance. He has the frame and the potential, but really needs to add some size to his lats for the back poses. Luckily Krizo is wide enough to have some great potential in this department.

Overall
Michal Krizo has both the size and conditioning necessary to make him a top contender. While he could use more mass on his quads and his lats, it’s clear that he could hang with top pros like Big Ramy, Hunter Labrada and Nick Walker. He’ll likely won’t be able to qualify for the Olympia this year, but he’s not far off from making waves in the IFBB Pro League.

Michal Krizo Hopes To Turn Pro And Compete In Olympia
For any bodybuilder, the goal is to earn their Pro Card and compete on the biggest stage in the sport. For Krizo, it is no different as he makes the move to NPC. Krizo’s first hurdle will be earning his Pro Card within the NPC.
This is something that fellow Slovakian bodybuilder Adela Ondrejovicova did a few weeks back. She was able to earn her Pro Card almost instantly and will now have a chance to compete against the IFBB pros. Both athletes share a coach and it is likely that Krizo will begin training immediately to win a show and earn his card as well.
For NPC, this is a huge move as Michal Krizo adds star power to a league that has become extremely marketable overtime. Krizo is the type of figure that brings attention and fans to shows that he competes in.
For Michal Krizo, this is the next move in what has already been a successful career. Now, he will look to take it to the next level.

Bodybuilding Promoter Chris Minnes: Should Michal Krizo Move To The IFBB Pro?

Bodybuilding Promoter Chris Minnes: Should Michal Krizo Move To The IFBB Pro?

[embedded content]

IFBB Pro/NPC Promoter Chris Minnes looks back on how the IFBB Pro vs IFBB Elite Pro split affected the sport – and his thoughts on Michal Krizo.
Promoter Chris Minnes has been quietly at work producing some of the fastest rising bodybuilding competitions and events of recent years. Starting originally with the Tahoe Pro, Minnes has grown his endeavors extensively and now runs some of the sport’s biggest shows such as the Legion Sports Fest Pro. With an extensive behind the scenes knowledge of bodybuilding, we connected with Minnes to talk about the IFBB Pro’s future, it’s past, and how the IFBB Pro and IFBB Elite Pro split changed the directory of the sport. Chris Minnes also touches upon the IFBB Elite Pro superstar Michal Krizo and whether or not he should move (or be even be allowed to move) into the IFBB Pro league.
The IFBB Pro league has long been the number one bodybuilding league in the sport. Home to the Mr. Olympia competition and the biggest names in bodybuilding. But a monopoly this sport is not. There are a wide variety of other leagues across the globe providing events for athletes passionate about bodybuilding. One such league is the IFBB Elite Pro. If the names sound familiar – well, that’s because they were once one united organization.

The IFBB Elite Pro was originally part of the IFBB Pro proper. They organized the international and amateur league (separate from the NPC – which resided largely only in the US). In 2017, it was announced that these two entities would split. This changed the landscape to some degree in terms of qualifications for the Mr Olympia – especially for international competitors. Ultimately we landed on two parallel leagues, the IFBB Pro and the IFBB Elite Pro.

During our conversation with IFBB Pro bodybuilding promoter Chris Minnes, we asked for his reflection on the split and how it looked from behind the scenes. Minnes has been promoting bodybuilding shows for quite some time – and can recall the conversation he had with Jim Maino, president of the NPC and IFBB Pro league, just after the decision of the split.
Chris Minnes points out that the split ultimately led to two different approaches to the sport. The IFBB Elite Pro league now receives funds from the government at each international location. Minnes believes that this, in some respects, limits the possibilities of what a bodybuilding competition could be. On the flip side, it also allows the budges of the events to not be solely based on income from fans and athlete registration fees.
That being said, the IFBB Elite Pro league has been making a bit more headlines over the past year due to a viral rising superstar. Michal Krizo is an IFBB Elite Pro bodybuilder who is turning heads amongst fans of the IFBB Pro. This has led the community to call for Krizo to switch leagues. The logic being that most of the biggest talents in bodybuilding still compete in the IFBB Pro league. For Michal Krizo to really prove himself – he should be able to compete against these talented competitors.
But the IFBB Elite Pro and the IFBB Pro are now separate. Unless Michal Krizo formally switches leagues – he cannot quality to compete against the likes of Big Ramy or Brandon Curry at the Mr. Olympia.
We asked Chris Minnes if he felt that it would be a good move for Michal Krizo to switch leagues – when he’s already found great success in the IFBB Elite Pro. Minnes admits that he had never even heard of Krizo’s name. Which he attributes to proving just how much farther behind the IFBB Elite Pro league is compared to the IFBB Pro.
Of course, there are many others who know his name. He’s gone viral online across the divisions of all leagues. He even won Best Arms in the fan-voted Generation Iron Bodybuilding Awards 2021.  Minnes believes that if Krizo were interested – he should be 100% allowed to switch leagues. But this comes with one condition – Minnes doesn’t believe in cutting to the front of the line.
Chris Minnes would be happy to see Michal Krizo enter into the amateur NPC league, compete, earn his pro card, then earn qualification to the Olympia. If he goes through the paces – and still proves himself to be a threatening athlete. Then he will really start to turn heads.
Until then, Chris Minnes points out that photos are very different than the real thing. Until we can see Michal Krizo standing side by side with the best of the IFBB Pro league, there’s no real way of knowing just how threatening his physique really is.
You can watch Chris Minnes’ full comments about Michal Krizo and the aftermath of the IFBB Pro vs IFBB Elite Pro split in our latest GI Exclusive interview segment above!

Michal Krizo Wins Mr. Universe Pro 2021

Michal Krizo Wins Mr. Universe Pro 2021

Michal Krizo continues his dominant rise in IFBB Elite Pro with a big win at the Mr. Universe Pro.
While the biggest event of the weekend was the Arnold Classic UK 2021, this weekend also held the Elite Pro Mr. Universe Pro. Held on October 2nd, Michal Krizo dominated and earned first place in the Men’s Open Mr. Universe Pro. This win comes after an explosion in popularity for Krizo – catching the eyes of many IFBB Pro fans in the process.
Michael Krizo has been on a string of victories in the Elite Pro league as of late – and adds another title to his belt with a big win at the Mr. Universe Pro. His victories have become so eye-catching – that many IFBB Pro fans have been making comparisons of his physique to top athletes in the IFBB Pro league. Many have mused how he would fair if he switched leagues – though it’s rumored he is in an exclusive contract with the Elite Pro league for at least a year.

During his rise in popularity ands shortly before the Mr. Universe Pro competition – Michal Krizo also drew attention for his comments on the Arnold Classic 2021. Krizo took shots at Nick Walker – somewhat jokingly stating that “Nick Walker is no rival for me boys,” and also that, “bodybuilding isn’t only mass.” After receiving some criticism for the comments – he later apologized.
Michal Krizo’s victory at the Mr. Universe Pro seems to solidify his popularity across the globe. He very well may be one of the first Elite Pro bodybuilders to gain this kind of attention crossing between leagues. The Elite Pro league has been in existence since the controversial split between the IFBB Pro/NPC and the IFBB Pro International in 2017.

Second place at the Elite Pro Mr. Universe Pro was Pavel Koukal, presenting an impressive and well balanced physique with some solid conditioning. But could not topple the massive physique of Krizo. Following Pavel was Rene Gorol in third place, followed by Carlos Blanco and Tomas Kaspar in fourth and fifth place respectively.
The Elite Pro Mr. Universe Pro should not be confused with the NABBA associated and historical Mr. Universe competition. Even still, the event in the IFBB Elite Pro is a big event for the league – named in honor of the prestigious respect associated with the title.

Originally launched in 1975 with Bob Birdsong winning the event – the Mr. Universe Pro was run until 1981. It has now been revived by the Elite Pro and returend to big acclaim in 2021. With it’s return, the Elite Pro aims to have the competition be one of the pinnacle events for the league season.
With Michel Krizo’s breakthrough success, we’ll continue to keep an eye on the Elite Pro competitor to see his progress through the league. It would be fantastic to see how he would fair against top tier athletes in the IFBB Pro league – though that seems to be a far ways off if at all possible.
