Mike Tyson Reflects on His Mortality: “My Expiration Date is Coming Close Really Soon”

Mike Tyson Reflects on His Mortality: “My Expiration Date is Coming Close Really Soon”

Mike Tyson reflects on his life and mortality in recent podcast.
Famed former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson reflected on his mortality in a recent podcast episode. The legend spoke to his therapist Sean McFarland (aka Seano) and the two had a profound conversation about life and mortality.
Mortality can be quite the discouraging thing to think on. While so many people live their lives as if there’s no tomorrow, the reality is that one day we all will leave this mortal plane. Everyone has an expiration date and as such that means the time spent on this plane is limited. At the end of the day, none of us are going to make it out of this life alive.
To some, that may sound like a dark and depressing thing to contemplate. But it is reality and it is something that humans should reflect on before their time is up. One such human that appears to thinking on this often is former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
In recent years, Mike Tyson has shown himself to be a very changed man. Now an entrepreneur and advocate for mental health and the use of plant medicine, Tyson often reflects on his past, present and future, particularly how he will be facing his final days.
Reflecting on Mortality
A recent episode of his podcast saw the former boxing champion reflect on his mortality. In the episode Tyson spoke specifically about his thoughts on death and the reality that he has less years ahead as he does behind him.
“We’re all going to die one day, of course. Then I look in the mirror and I see those little spots on my face and I go ‘wow, my expiration date is coming close really soon, what do you do with that, how do you think about that death thing?”
While many have grown to love the more jovial side of Mike Tyson these days, the truth is that the former heavyweight champion is a deep thinker. He is a man who often reflects on his life, both the good and the bad, and tries to come away from the experience hoping to find the ultimate truth of his existence. Many individuals aren’t self-reflective which can often times lead them to lying to themselves, refusing to accept the truth about themselves, all in hopes of living up to the image they hold of themselves.
Facing Reality
Mike Tyson on the other hand is choosing to be more holistic and honest with himself about his life. Seano, Tyson’s therapist and friend, had this to say about his own mortality.
“I don’t want to die screaming. I’ve heard the last rights of a lot of people – a lot of famous people – and they’re getting ready to die, and they leave this planet screaming. The New York Times says this, the Vanity Fair says that but they become scared little boys in the end because they’re not right with truth and they’re haunted by all of their demons. I just want to die consciously, after a good swim hopefully.”
It’s refreshing to hear Mike Tyson speak on such heavy topics with a sense of grace and understanding rather than coming from a place of fear.

Mike Tyson Confirms That He Would Fight Jake Paul on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Mike Tyson Confirms That He Would Fight Jake Paul on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Could we see Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul this year?
Mike Tyson recently confirmed that he would be interested in boxing Jake Paul some time this year. The former reigning heavyweight boxing champion and legend mentioned as much in his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Mike Tyson is one of the most recognized human beings in the world. First it was for his ability to knockout other human beings with what seemed like general ease. Now it’s for his redemption story, his successful podcast, and businesses, acting, and just complete transformation.
With all that said Mike Tyson is still known as the form heavyweight champion. He even had an exhibition bout with fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. showing that both men still have plenty left in the tank. Since then, Tyson has remained in pretty good shape and his return to the ring has sparked the imaginations of many. That includes late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Tyson was a guest on his show where Kimmel asked the former heavyweight champ some interesting questions. One such question was about the polarizing Jake Paul.
When asked by Jimmy Kimmel about a potential match up with Jake Paul, Mike Tyson had this to say about the idea.
“That’ll be very interesting. I never took it really serious, but yeah that could be really interesting.”
When asked about Jake Paul and his skillset and ability to be a challenge to the former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson gave him his due.
“He’s skilled enough, yeah. I’m gonna give it to him, he’s skilled enough because he’s winning. Even if he’s fighting guys who you guys don’t believe are good enough fighters, they should be able to beat him. Right. But they can’t.
“So, he’s beating people he shouldn’t really be beating.
“He’s doing good, for a guy who’s just doing it, this is good.”
Many people would counter with the idea that Jake Paul is bad for boxing, that he tarnishes the sport. Mike Tyson on the other hand has a very different opinion on what the young upstart has accomplished for boxing.
Mike Tyson discusses possible Jake Paul fight with Jimmy Kimmel
“He’s doing so much good for boxing. Listen, this guy got 70 million people following him every time he fights, and the champions of the world don’t have that many people follow them. So, what he’s doing for boxing is just sensational. No one should be hating on that, let’s just fight ‘em. He’s helping everybody get money. Why are people mad at him?”
When asked by Jimmy Kimmel if he would fight Jake Paul, Mike Tyson was pretty adamant about doing it sooner rather than later.
“Anything is possible, yes. But [a fight with Jake Paul] has got to happen this year. It has to happen this year.”
Jake Paul himself responded to Mike Tyson on Twitter where he showed respect and reverence to the legend as well as accepting the fight. See his response as well as what Tyson said in the Tweet below.

Thank you to the great Mike Tyson for the respect and opportunity. This year we are making it happen. pic.twitter.com/dlGQUf2EP0

Joe Rogan Defends Mike Tyson Punching “Annoying” Passenger On Plane: ‘You Probably Earned It’

Joe Rogan Defends Mike Tyson Punching “Annoying” Passenger On Plane: ‘You Probably Earned It’

Joe Rogan recently shared his opinion on Mike Tyson’s incident on the plane and it matches many other popular stances.
Mike Tyson made headlines on Thursday after repeatedly punching a passenger that was sitting behind him on a flight. After watching the videos of the incident, many sided with Iron Mike as the man is seen bothering Tyson constantly. Joe Rogan recently hopped on board defending Tyson.
During the videos, released by TMZ, the man is seen leaning over Tyson’s seat saying something. Tyson verbally warned the man to stop but he did not listen. Later, Tyson’s reps claimed that the man threw a water bottle at Tyson while being intoxicated. This is the reason many have spoken in defense of Tyson and believe the man was in the wrong.

During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcast host spoke on how “annoying” the man was and he earned what he got.
“That dude was a douche bag. He was annoying one of the baddest motherfu**rs that’s ever walked the face of the earth. That’s so dumb. That’s not even kicking a beehive, that’s like headbutting a beehive,” Joe Rogan said.
“If you find yourself and Mike Tyson’s reaching over the back of an airline seat and he’s punching you in the face, I think you probably earned it. I think you probably earned it. The guy was super annoying man. It’s like people get crazy.”
This is becoming a trend where fans believe that athletes and celebrities will not fire back because of who they are. In today’s age of social media, there are many instances where athletes are seen going back at fans who have either said insulting things or even throwing items.

This is an issue Joe Rogan addressed. He explains how these athletes and celebrities are people as well and will take action if needed.
“They think just because he’s Mike Tyson, he’s famous, he can’t just punch you but you’re annoying him. He’s going to just f***ing hit you like a normal person would.”
Mike Tyson returned to the ring for one final fight in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. He is a retired boxer with some of the best hands of all-time. In retirement, Tyson has started his own podcast and remains active, both in the gym and the media.
This is another instance where a fan is provoking an athlete not expecting any repercussions. It is becoming common where fans are crossing boundaries with athletes and it is not always wrong for the athletes to take action just because they are famous.

WATCH: Mike Tyson Repeatedly Punches Unruly Passenger In The Face On Plane

WATCH: Mike Tyson Repeatedly Punches Unruly Passenger In The Face On Plane

Mike Tyson allegedly got fed up with an intoxicated passenger behind him during their flight.
Mike Tyson is known for having one of the strongest right hands in boxing history. If there is one thing that you do not want, it is to catch one as a regular person. That was the fate of an unruly passenger who was sitting behind Tyson on a flight. A video, reported by TMZ, shows Tyson repeatedly striking the man in the face.
Tyson was on board of a flight going from San Francisco to Florida on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 10:30 P.M. after the man apparently would not leave Tyson alone. Other passengers claim that the former champion was very open to those wanting pictures and to have a conversation. The man allegedly kept provoking Tyson even after being told to stop.

Mike Tyson was seen in the video throwing multiple punches at the man, whose face was left bloodied with cuts. The man was given medical attention and later went to the police. There has been no comment made from the police. Also, JetBlue and Tyson’s camp have remained quiet on the incident.
This has been an interesting week for Mike Tyson, who was recently in the news after his appearance with Joe Rogan. After getting high with the host, Tyson made a comment about having wealthy people kidnap the homeless and hunt them on their estates.
“This is what happens. They take these homeless people off the streets. Put them in there, take them to one of those special hospitals. Then, they take them from the hospital, all drugged up, take them to these large estates, property — ‘let’s hunt’ – run!”

Tyson has also been in talks of getting back in the ring to take on one of the Paul Brothers, but that seems very unlikely given his stance on the celebrity boxing scene. Tyson has since created a line of edibles and believes that there is more coming on that end.
To this point, there has been no comments made on the incident involving Mike Tyson and this man on the airplane. When the story comes out, there will be updates provided.

Mike Tyson Shuts Down Jake Paul Rumors: ‘I Don’t Think I’ll Do Stuff Like That Anymore’

Mike Tyson Shuts Down Jake Paul Rumors: ‘I Don’t Think I’ll Do Stuff Like That Anymore’

Mike Tyson recently spoke on the recent rumors about returning to fight Jake Paul.
Jake Paul might be one of boxing’s biggest sensations right now but Mike Tyson is still one of the best to ever step in the ring. There have been recent reports about the two getting together for a fight but Tyson recently shut down those rumors.
After seeing a report that there were official terms on a fight, Tyson quickly took to Twitter to respond. Following his tweet, Tyson appeared on the Full Send Podcast where he was asked about these rumors.

This is new to me. I saw Jake in St. Barths and he never mentioned it. https://t.co/eL01HDMdmr
— Mike Tyson (@MikeTyson) January 17, 2022
Mike Tyson sat alongside Dana White when he was asked about an alleged fight with Jake Paul. This was not the first time Tyson was linked to a Paul brother. There were also talks of Tyson stepping in the ring against Logan Paul but nothing has come to fruition. According to Tyson, this might never happen again.
“Guys want to fight me for $100 million bucks. I don’t think I’ll ever do stuff like that anymore. I wanted to do it the first time, just for fun, to have fun. Some people took it to another level and made it financial and the fun went out of it,” Mike Tyson explained.
Mike Tyson is referring to his return fight against Roy Jones Jr. that took place on Nov. 28, 2020. The fight ended in a controversial draw. This was Tyson’s first fight in 15 years and might be his last one ever. Jake Paul also appeared on the card as he faced former NBA player Nate Robinson.

Tyson spoke on his feelings about how fighting has turned financial. This takes away a lot for an old-school fighter and could be one of the reasons he is staying away.
“If it was back when it first started and we were both fighting on the same card and both active, yeah I would do it but it just turned bad. It didn’t turn out right.”
Dana White chimed in and gave his opinion on Tyson’s future. The two have a mutual respect and it made for an entertaining interview.
“I don’t want to see you fight anymore, man. I know you get mad at me when I say that but I do. I don’t want to see you fight anymore,” Dana White said.
“I don’t think I will either but you never know,” Tyson replied.
It is clear that the original reports were not true. There are no terms on a fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. While Tyson did not completely shut down the idea of a return, saying “you never know,” it seems like his mind is made up and it could take a lot for him to return to the ring.

Mike Tyson On Psychedelic Toad Venom: ‘I ‘Died’ During My First Trip’

Mike Tyson On Psychedelic Toad Venom: ‘I ‘Died’ During My First Trip’

Mike Tyson shared his experience the first time he tripped off toad venom.
Mike Tyson has been open about his drug use during his life. This includes some battles with toad venom. Tyson recently shared his first experience at a conference dedicated to psychedelics. The meeting took place in Miami and Tyson admitted that he tripped off toad venom 53 times in his life.
Despite taking the drug many times, Tyson said that there was nothing like the first time.
“I ‘died’ during my first trip. I did it as a dare I was doing heavy drugs like cocaine, so why not? It’s another dimension. Before I did the toad, I was a wreck,” Tyson said.
The toughest opponent I ever faced was myself. I had low self-esteem. People with big egos often have low self-esteem. We use our ego to subsidize that. The toad strips the ego.”

The venom comes from the Sonoran Desert Toad. This is a Mexican amphibian that spends seven months of the year living underground. When it is active, the venom can be smoked and produces a psychoactive trip. The venom began being used in healing rituals and has gained plenty of attention because of the popularity of other drugs such as LSD.

Mike Tyson first discovered toad venom about four years ago when he was overweight and drinking a lot. Tyson was offered the drug and fell in love with it immediately. during his time using toad venom, Tyson has dropped over 100 pounds and even started boxing again.
“It has made me more creative and helps me focus. I’m more present as a businessman and entrepreneur.”
“People see the difference. It speaks for itself. If you knew me in 1989 you knew a different person. My mind isn’t sophisticated enough to fathom what happened, but life has improved. The toad’s whole purpose is to reach your highest potential. I look at the world differently. We’re all the same. Everything is love.”
Mike Tyson even has a nursery of the toads at his house in Southern California. He is working on two different brands of cannabis. While his toad line will not include actual venom, it will be inspired by his experiences with the venom.
This is a field that Tyson feels strongly about. He addressed that he is fighting for psychedelics to become available to buy over the counter. Tyson believes that this is the reason he has become more focused and it has made him a better businessman. Tyson has become a huge advocate for psychedelics and has began speaking about them all over the country.
Mike Tyson is one of the best boxers in the history of the sport. He has used drugs many times in his life and toad venom has turned into a favorite of his. It will be interesting to see how he continues to promote the use of psychedelics.

Lee Haney: Evander Holyfield Claims He Will Not Comeback To Fight Mike Tyson

Lee Haney: Evander Holyfield Claims He Will Not Comeback To Fight Mike Tyson

Evander Holyfield told Lee Haney he doesn’t plan on fighting Mike Tyson… but is it true?
While Lee Haney is best known as a world record holding 8x Mr. Olympia champion, he also spent some time training boxing legend Evander Holyfield. In fact, he still occasionally keeps up with Holyfield to this day. As rumors continue to swirl about Mike Tyson fighting Holyfield in a future bout – we wanted to know if Haney could provide any clarity on the situation. In our latest GI Exclusive interview, Lee Haney talks about training Evander Holyfield and the unlikely chance he will fight Mike Tyson.
Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson are two legendary boxers in their own right. So it’s no surprise that excitement grew once rumors released claiming that these two icons of the sport might potentially face off in the ring. As of this writing, there has been no confirmation that this match will happen.

That doesn’t mean that Mike Tyson hasn’t been teasing the fans a bit. In a recent interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Tyson alluded to the rumored fight being still very much a possibility. “[Holyfield is] on the table, but I guess the people wanted Roy,” said Tyson during the interview.
Roy of course is reference to Mike Tyson’s recent national press tour as he promotes his exhibition match versus Roy Jones Jr. on Triller pay per view.
But while Tyson claims that fighting Evander Holyfield is on the table, Lee Haney has words that paint a different picture. Haney was a personal trainer for Evander Holyfield during a period where the boxer was trying to put on more pounds of muscle. Haney has remained in occasional contact with Holyfield ever since.
Once rumors grew about Mike Tyson facing off against Evander Holyfield, Lee Haney reached out to Holyfield in an attempt to get confirmation. Holyfield quickly denied the fight, saying he had nothing to do with it.
Of course, Lee Haney also admits that perhaps Holyfield is working in secret in order to keep an element of surprise. Perhaps this rumored fight is such a high profile occasion that Holyfield is keeping his cards close to the chest until the right moment.
Lee Haney also goes into detail about his time training Evander Holyfield and shares some interesting anecdotes from a very different time in both the sport of boxing and bodybuilding.
You can watch Lee Haney’s full comments on Evander Holyfield in the GI Exclusive interview segment above!

Mike Tyson Believes Jake Paul Will Defeat Tyron Woodley

Mike Tyson Believes Jake Paul Will Defeat Tyron Woodley

Mike Tyson has been a fan of Jake Paul since he began boxing.
Mike Tyson is one of the best boxers to ever live so when he speaks, people usually listen. Recently, Tyson has been speaking highly of Jake Paul and his ability as a boxer. That has not changed with Paul’s fight against Tyron Woodley coming up.
Tyson recently told TMZ that this will not be an easy fight and Paul’s record speaks for itself. The 24-year-old YouTuber participated in his first fight back in January 2020 and has been in the spotlight in the boxing world ever since. Paul has victories over NBA player Nate Robinson and MMA fighter Ben Askren.
Paul, along with his brother Logan, have been vocal since their boxing debuts. The Internet sensations have a knack of getting under the skin of their opponents and that includes Woodley.

“Jake has been fighting for five minutes. Why is age a factor?” Woodley said to the New York Post. “It’s a factor if someone’s faster, stronger or if they are more skilled — he’s none of the above. He can’t change the fact of my experience level, what I’ve done in the game, my mindset, my mentality and just being in there for the minutes, hours and years. He can’t make that up in any training camp.”
Mike Tyson believes that Paul’s fists will be the difference in this fight. Woodley is 19-7-1 in his career as a fighter. This will clearly be Paul’s biggest test yet but Tyson believes that he can pickup another victory and keep his record unblemished.
If Paul can take down Woodley, there will be even more believers in his ability to compete as a boxer. Regardless of the outcome, he already has the praise of a legend from what he has been able to do to this point.

Logan Paul Thinks He Could Beat Mike Tyson in a Boxing Match

Logan Paul Thinks He Could Beat Mike Tyson in a Boxing Match

“You can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. Bro, he’s old, old.”
Here we go again. It appears that Logan Paul is intent on trying to box all the modern day boxing legends. First he targeted the smaller Floyd Mayweather and fought him to a draw. Now it appears that Logan Paul is looking to goad Mike Tyson into a match.
You would think that Logan Paul would have learned his lesson by now. In facing Floyd Mayweather we saw that Paul had some modicum of skills in the ring. But what we ultimately saw was a larger man unable to hurt or damage the much smaller, more experienced boxer. Now Logan Paul has his sights set on Mike Tyson, a much larger man and a bigger puncher than Mayweather.

While Mike Tyson may be at an advanced age, what he was able to show against Roy Jones Jr. during their exhibition bout was impressive. Tyson still had pop on his punches and he still had the kind of footwork and agility of a man years his junior. Make no mistake that Mike Tyson is still an absolute beast.

Paul vs Tyson Next?
So where did this notion of a Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson showdown comes from? Well it appears that on Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, the question was posed.
“Someone mentioned Mike Tyson, like how funny is it?” said Paul. “One great at a time. Or is it like you can only fight one? My lawyer mentioned it and he was like, ‘No, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance’.
“I’m like ‘bro, I literally just went through all of this, you can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. Bro, he’s old, old.”

There’s certainly nothing wrong with confidence. It will take that kind of confidence for Logan Paul to actually go for broke and beat Mike Tyson in the ring. But despite his age, Tyson would be no walk in the park and would likely give Paul all he could handle.
Would you watch a Mike Tyson vs Logan Paul match?
