Miley Cyrus Julian Marquez’s come-from-behind win at UFC 258 was not the wildest thing that happened to him on Saturday.
“The Cuban Missile Crisis” had plenty to celebrate already, returning from a long injury layoff to score his first win since December 2017 and doing so in dramatic fashion. Facing Maki Pitolo, Marquez appeared to be down on the scorecards after two hard-fought rounds, but he went all-out for a finish in the third to secure an anaconda choke submission with just 43 seconds remaining in the bout.
In the lead-up to his return, Marquez told the media he was planning to walk out to a Miley Cyrus cover of the classic Blondie song Heart of Glass. His dedication to the pop star didn’t end there as he ended his post-fight interview with a Valentine’s Day callout directed at Cyrus.

“I’ve been 31 months to get on this damn mic and to call these people out right now,” Marquez said. “This is my time to shine, so Miley Cyrus, will you be my Valentine?”
Sure enough, the message made its way to Cyrus and she responded in kind via Twitter:
Shave an MC into your chest hair and I am YOURS ?? Happy VDay and Congrats my love!

“Shave an MC into your chest and I am yours,” Cyrus wrote. “Happy VDay and congrats my love!”
The ball is in your court, Mr. Marquez.
