Yeah, that would work fine! IMO that's going to sound very crisp/clean.
Will yours include a sound bar? That would help out alot with install and overall sound too!

the truck i have on order list for like 29500 so it has it all.. the sound bar has 5 1/4 in it from the factory.. i'll have to use a die grinder and a shop vac to open up the mold to take on the 6 1/2

the Rubicon is a special addition jeep that they are only making 6000 of and it has allot of off road gear on it from the factory that will say under the 7/70 warranty

What about a crossover? Remember that when the top is off, you will lose a lot of bass. Maybe want to add another sub???

i wasn't going to run any components so i didn't think i needed any cross overs.. and i was think about adding another sub.. just want to pull up on the guys that the stop lights with all the rattle in the world subs and turn it up with some hendrix on and just blow them away.. then turn it back down and drive away LOL

most of those guys not even rubber mount there plates.. and set there think were that rattling tin sound coming from

but what i'm really after is just a nice sounding stereo.. nothing over the top or competition.. just a clean sound and some volume for when the top is off

OMFG!!!! You're gettin a TJ Rubi!!!!!! props at your choice in jeeps. Very capable off road there bro. If you're not goin to wheel it though you could have had a jeep to suit your needs for quite a bit less. Not flaming just jealous that's all.

Check into a center console mounted subwoofer box. I know they make them and it will save you a little bit of space in the rear to put shit you don't want stolen. Your factory speakers will have the new style of sound bar that is mounted in the corners of the sport cage instead of across the top. They work alot better than the old style sound bar from what I have been reading ont he jeep forums.

I have a 95 yj myself and the add a trunk is nice to throw my gym bag and whatever else will fit in there when I am cruising with the top off. Stereo is not on high on my list of mods right now, swappign out the axles and giving it 7" fo lift w/ 35's in the spring. Going to pick up my new axles this weekend or next.

Are you planning on going higher and bigger tires?

You won't have to worry about crossovers, your amps should have those built in! You could add another sub or just put in a 12 instead of a 10! A buddy of mine has an older 87 model jeep with 2 boston 8's...OMG that sounds soo clean, especially with the top off. It carried very well

Oh yeah I almost forgot if this is your first jeep congratulations and welcome to the family. If you don't understand now you will when every jeep owner waves at you.

I checked with JBL and BJ is right. They all do come with 12db crossovers.
Not sure what this trunk thing looks like but just make sure you get enough ventialtion in there for cooling the amps. Run your RCA cables down one side of the jeep and the power cable down the other side. It helps to cut down on noise interference.
What head unit are you using?

The add a trunk is basically two sides of a sheet metal box that fits in between the wheel wells behind the rear seat. The end gate makes up the back wall and the floor and wheel wells make up the other sides. It locks with a couple latches that need to be opened from inside the trunk. Not the most secure thing in the world but it keeps the honest and the lazy out.

see i'm thinking about using that add a trunk to bount the amps to the back of the box.. looks like this

and yes this is my first jeep.. can't wait for it to come in.. i love to go out riding my YZ250 in the mud and trail ride.. but my back can't take it anymore

You got WAY too many speakers Gear. You should use the 5 1/4 holes to your advantage. Get a component set that consists of 5 1/4's and tweets..(they will come with x-overs) then you only have to mount the tweets. Put some 6.5's components in your doors.....run a single 10" sub (sealed enclosure for tighter bass). Get a 4 channel amp that runs a clean 25watt rms to each speaker and a sub amp that runs about 100watts RMS to your sub. You could put this whole system in for pretty cheap....Pm me if you need more info. I have been doing car audio for 15 years and competed in the IASCA circuit for 2 years. Contrary to popular belief, more is not always better...especially when it comes to car audio...........456

are component that much better.. the sound bar has 5 1/4 , dash and 4x6 and the sub from the factory is in the center counsel.. so all i added was the 6x9.. which was just an add-on that i was going to get two boxes that mount right to the back roll bars.. but i can drop the 6x9's ...and i know this sounds like a newbies question but why so low of an amp.. if i get the power window kit (after market) then i think i can get the speakers in the door.. not allot of room there to work with..

Components will give you a much cleaner clearer reproduction of sound than ANY coaxial speaker. The sound staging/imaging (where the sounds appear to originate from) is much better also. Did you mean low wattage to the seperates or the sub? Believe me my friend 25watts of CLEAN RMS power to 4 sets of components will blow your fucking head off!!! As for the sub, try to find out how big your factory sub enclosure is...(how many cubic feet) If its too small, you may have to resort to building your own. Some higher priced subs can be run in enclosures as small as .5 cu. ft. I would highly recommend building your own though. There are many different variations that you can do with your system. You don't need anything more than a good 4 channel amp that puts out 4x25watts RMS and a sub amp that will put out 1x100 RMS....you can go larger on both but believe me you won't need to.

Do some research on the net. Don't take it to an install shop..they will gouge you on price. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or even call me (PM me for my #)

Check out this website..

it has excellent info my friend!!! It also explains why you don't need to waste your money on caps either. Also 4 gauge power wire will be sufficent..run it to a 2 into 1 fuse holder and then run 8gauge to each amp. 14gauge speaker wire is plenty for your application. As a matter of fact i think I have some 8 gauge Phoenix Gold wire in my garage..what you got to trade?....lol..........456
