Strongwoman Inez Carrasquillo of Puerto Rico set a new all-time Women’s log press world record of 145.9 kilograms (321.4 pounds) during the first day of the 2023 Rainier Classic in Burien, WA. She broke the record twice on Saturday, July 8, 2023, having scored a 140.5-kilogram (310-pound) lift before the current world record.
The log used in the contest was produced by Rogue Fitness. Carrasquillo wore knee sleeves, a weightlifting belt, elbow sleeves, and wrist wraps for the lift. Her world record lift can be seen below, courtesy of her Instagram page:

Once Carrasquillo approached the log, she grabbed the handles and lifted it to the knees without issue. She cleaned the log to the shoulders and paused briefly before beginning the press. With a soft bend in the knees, utilizing a split-jerk stance, Carrasquillo locked out the log as her body shook, trying to stabilize the world record weight. Despite the visible quaking while maneuvering the log, Carraquillo did not otherwise appear to struggle at any point during the attempt.
The post of her new record was met with congratulatory comments from fellow athletes and coaches in the strongman community, including 2016 Europe’s Strongest Man Laurence Shahlaei and fellow competitor Erin Murray. Carrasquillo’s 140.5-kilogram attempt at this competition broke the previous log press world record of 140 kilograms (308 pounds) set by Andrea Thompson in October 2022 at that year’s World Log Lift Championships.
This is Carrasquillo’s first world record. She joined the pro-strongwoman ranks by winning the 2022 Arnold Amateur Strongwoman Championships in Columbus, OH. Her only 2023 contest before the 2023 Rainier Classic was the 2023 Arnold Strongwoman Classic in March, ranking fifth out of 10 athletes. Victoria Long won that contest.
