new booming indusrty-fake i.d.'s :)
They were talking about making the use of fake ID's a felony offense! Has anyone heard if this went through or not? It was in the wake of 9/11 that they were discussing it.

Yes it was passed early 2002n but is limited to Govt issued IDs

Passports, drivers license, Armed Forces ID etc...

I am sure the post office will require a legal, federal ID to send mail. What else could you show, your Meijers discount card ;)

just slowly dwindling away your rights is america really free anymore or are the fears making us paranoid and just chipping off the constituition little by little..

I do too. I use UPS almost all the time. I do have a PO BOX though. Some people demand delivering things via USPS. What they do not realize is you get added charges tacked on when you ship illicit material via USPS. The same is not true for other shipping couriers. Correct me if I am wrong.

i still dont know why anyone would send anything USPS especially if it was "illegal" ...that is giving them one less step to bust u...y put it in their hands in the 1st place?

I fully agree! I don;t know why some prefer USPS but they do.

I am not saying I disagree with you on this but lets play devils advocate here and might I ask you with all that is going on in America and all the threats we face from terrorismt and such what do you propose we do? The mail ID is indeed a step in the right direction for mail security, does it take away some more of our rights and freedom, yes! I think we have to swallow that though and look at the bigger picture which is what I said above, the threats our country face everyday and how or what do we incorperate to make security measure better? I am not happy with many of the laws either but they do more good then harm in my opinion.

I think if it makes ppl safer then cool but it is when it starts to take away from ppls rights then it should stop there

I do not think we need more government !
and if Hillary Clinton gets in office we are sure to see the shit hit the fan !

But I think and unfortuante part of making us safer is having to take away or modify certain rights, it sucks i know but again im asking what else do we do?

I agree with Presser-I would rather be safe and have a little less in the way of rights. I look at it this way, If you are not doing anything illegal you have nothing to worry about....
