Whats the most clever way to send gifts from friends that are overseas. Recently i have lost two presents from a buddy overseas and i need to tell him to send it in something so that it makes it here. any ideas bros. Im new to this board but have floated around a couple others. Just recently got my computer back up and running so thats why im new here. Thanks for any help you guys can give

no idea man, I personaly would never try to get anything from overseas but i know thats not the answer your looking for, how did you try before when they were take from you

I don't wanna answer this question for everyone's security which is pretty obvious.

I seen some pretty sophisticated methods almost impossible to detect by customs.

mail it as a flat package, something that looks like a document. bubble wrap contents, make sure its wrapped in a baggy so it wont leak if broken ( if liquid)
ship regular mail NOT overnigt or Express, and require NO signature. Also if you put a tracking number on it you can find out where its at from the USPS website. If it stays in customs more than a day..not a good sign.

thats a good answer with out getting to detailed on some methods I seen yrs ago. I had one snagged from far east and rarely take the chance's now.

One method is never full-proof just a matter of time before they must change packaging methods or shipment addys.

Many orals are sent flat like documents.

Customs can't go through all these small packs.

I would never want to recive oil or liquid's (vial's amps) to hard to get through customs.

there are some very good ways to send these packages but like dg said we can't put them here and let the cat out of the bag.

your source needs to be a little creative.

also keep in mind that if you had 2 packages taken you should be shipping to another addy because the others have been probably been flagged.

you're better off finding a domestic source and paying a little more to avoid customs.

explaining packing methods here isnt the smartest idea , also , i dont think its very cool of u to ask about that on ur first post .

I have seen some very interesting shipping techniques used and until recently they have all worked. With the introduction of homeland security, customs is getting better at snagging packages from overseas sources, so beware.

Here is some advice when ordering from over seas source.

1. never accept a package if it is delivered more the 18 days from the time it was shipped. (It should take no longer than 2 weeks for a package to reach you no matter where it was shipped from.)

2. Get to know your mail man. If customs does snag your package a postal inspector posing as your mail man will most likely come to your door and verify if you recieve mail there. This is your first clue. If anyone comes your door trying to verify if you accept mail there tell them no. ( Think about it how often does your mail man come to your door)
A. If a package is delivered under suspicious circumstances, write "return to sender" on the package and do not take the package inside your house.

3. Never sign for anything.

4. Know your constitutional rights regarding search and seizure.

5. Be cautious, you are breaking the law.

6. If you have a domestic source the extra cash you pay them is worth it, to have them take virtually all of the risk for you.

7. Do not use your home computer to talk about any illegal activities. Go to the library or other public place.

8. If by chance a controlled delivery is performed on your overseas package.

A. DENY EVERYTHING
B. Use your miranda rights to remain silent and acquire an attorney.
C. IF they have to ask you a question your answer should be "NO." If they have the authority to do something they will do it without your permission, so dont give them permission for anything.

8. Remember you are innocent until proven guilty. It is very hard for them to prove that you ordered the package, even if it is sent to your address. So dont give them any information to use against you.

If he was a fed I don't think this info was more than he knew already. If I seen something that was to reveling I would have deleted or moved this thread.
