post workout shake

this is for everybody! what do you guys take for your post-workout shake? make your own or buy an over priced ready-made variety?
 
i forgot to say what i use. 45 grams whey from powder and 48 grams carbs from honey....but now that i see what you fellas are taking, i'll prolly up my carbs by....ohhhhhhh about double!!
 
I make my own, 2 scoops ice cream vanilla 6-8 eggwhites, high protein milk, soy or whey protein, and a scoop of wheat flour for carbs, I use wheat flour for a more complex carb.
Anyone know what would be the best to add carbs???
 
czarshel...as i understand it, dextrose and other fast-acting carbs are superior to slower carbs like wheat flour bro. i would take some honey or pick-up some dextrose powder
 
I just happen to have a 5 pound bag of Dextrose left over from something else I did one time. I'll try adding it.

damn, i thought i was bad with a desk full of bars, shakes, potatoes and peanut butter at work....you guy's have 50 extra lbs of sugar lyin around! that's comedy

You would not even believe the stuff I just laying around.
 
Used to make my own by I find Aftermax by Optimum Nutrition works very well, it's got everything you need, high glycemic carbs, whey, glutamine, creatine, aminos etc
 
I eat a baby ruth candy bar....the peanuts give me protein...lol

I usually either make my own or pick one up from the gym.

Nothing fancy when I make my own....2 scoops protein, milk & some grape fruit juice on the side.

I havebeen looking allover fot the thread where we were taking about what we put in our own homeade shakes, I cannot find it !

(nevermind I just found it duhh)

So Heres What I want to know I've started adding simple Dextrose for carbs instead of complex carbs like wheat flour.

But my question is: About how much pure dextrose should I add to my shakes? for extra carbs.

I'm still lookimg for the thread where we were discussingh BA content and Prop pain. If I can find it I'll be adding it to this post.


So what do you think how much dextrose for added carbs

Crush 6-8 ice cubes add a banana or two, half a packet of fat free pudding mix, a little milk and scoop and a half of isopure. Sometimes I throw in some nat pb or a packet of sugar free hot choclate.
