IGF and Carbs--how much?

I've been reading that you need to take in a decent amount of carbs while on IGF. How well does this hold true?

The reason i ask is that I'm more worried about leaning up than just putting on mass. Do i really need 400g of carbs a day or will 200g or so be OK?

Will the higher carbs, if all are low GI, affect fat loss while on IGF?

I don't think there is a specific answer because it depends on the person. All I've been told is to keep the diet clean and calories high--which I'm doing my best to do, and it works for me.

That's true. Bad wording on my part.

OK, I'm trying to walk a thin line, that's why i ask. I've been increasing my calories a little because i'm just a lot more hungry. But I want to gain as much size as possible without hindering fat loss. I don't eat the increased amount of cals every day, but maybe every other day. I'm still getting leaner, but i don't know if I'm slowing the process down.

Did you raise your calories and continue to get leaner?

I did, yes. I still need to eat more though which I'm really trying to do. I've gained some good muscle and lost fat while on IGF, but without getting enough calories, I think I'm not getting as good an effect as I should have. Metabolism really goes up it would seem so you need additional calories to even maintain your body.

IGF is such a good nutrient partitioner that you can increase your carb intake & still get leaner. You definitely don't have to consume 400g carbs to get the effects though.

so what would you do while dieting for a show? would a 100 grams be enough? say 30 pre-workout and 70 post via a mass recovery drink. ill be using 40 mcgs.

I think you're talking about going hypo if you're not consuming enough carbs...I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you feel tired, dizzy, confused then that means you're going hypo. From what I hear most people don't go hypo at 40mcg's ed.

I don't understand. I'm taking in 4323 cal's a day. 534 grs of carb's, 440 grs of protein and only 47 grs of total fat. After 18 days on the oral, I haven't gain or lost a lb. Sitting at 235 lbs now for three weeks. I do cardio for 45 min's 5 days a week, and train hard 5 days a week. Still the same measurements after three weeks and I forgot to add in the 500 mg/ew of TEST E, with a little EQ @ 400mg/ew.

tough old man, i think your over training, cut the cardio down to 30mins max and drop a day at the gym so your only doing 4 days a week. Not to be rude but the older u get the more time your body is going to need to recover and build new muscle.

IMO even if you are 20 years old you should only be in the gym 3 MAYBE 4 times a week.

Just a question for old man, why so low on your fats?
