Do you use any unique techniques or tricks when bulking?

Just wondering if anyone used any unique little tricks that are unique to themselves when bulking. I myself have a couple whey/casein/peanut butter/oatmeal shakes a day, I also make sure to drink a protein shake 1 hour before bed with 60g's of protein and some fiber in their along with some Hempseed oil. And I drink gatoraide with glutamine during training, all that i can think of....for now.
 
I just eat as much as I can and keep it decently clean. Food every two hours.

Bump!! Food is by far your best bulking ingredients. Just like TKemp mentioned, eating at least every 2-3 hours will do the trick, make sure you get your water intake as well.

Being consistent in those is what most people miss.

Basically eat A LOT. I still cut out a lot of carbs even while bulking, and the carbs I do eat are considered "net carbs". Salads, fruits, whole wheat bread, etc. Stay away from all white carbs, pastas and sweets whenever possible. Helps the extra poundage you pack on to be leaner than just....blahhh

next to genetics, i think consistency is wht sets people apart from eachother. not just consistency in training but in eating and resting as well.
 
I eat very clean when bulking but when I want some crap i'll eat it, but that isn't very often, i'm normally so stuffed i can't eat anymore. I also get as much protein from whole food as possible. Oh and i drink on average 2 gallons of 2% milk, good cheap protein source. I still afford Pasta and potatoes though, I just find i get fat from them.
 
i got a few tricks and tips i use to make it a nice clean bulk. #1 off hit the mourning cardio a few times a week for a good 45 min.... dont go too crazy , remember we are bulking but keep hr around 60% mhr will burn mostly fat which will be adipose tissue in the mourning before meals.#2 take it carbs WHEN U NEED THEM, carbs are nothing more then energy split ur diet up 40%pro/30%fat/30% carbs... a biiiiiig majority of your carbs are before and after workouts for intensity and nutrient partioning #3 Get almost all your fats from EFAs... fish oil, flax , hemp, olive ect. This will add in the nutrient partioning effect and keep you lean... some sat fats u need but dont be eating bacon and sausage at every meal. #4 sleep alot... u grow when u rest , after about 2 hrs into asleep when u start hitting REM your growth hormone levels top off up 2 400% above baseline.. u take it from there. #5 get in and get the fuck out of the gym,... stay in there no longer then 45 minutes but when your there it is SEEK AND DESTROY.. Be so destructive and intense with your lifts will make your muscle HAVE TO GROW. they will have no other choice but to with the amount of ripping down you will be doing. last but not least cut carbs down on off days.. some will disagree but AS I SAID all carbs are is energy... the insulin spike post wokout will in fact help ith protein synthesis and a conservation of net protein balance but if you dont workout u wont need as much calories(carbohydrates) What you do is keep a set schedual of your eating patterns and on off days cut down on the carbs or switch to a carb cutoff with less overall carbs but dont cut back on the healthy fats,. They will do almost as much as your protein with all the bennis u get from them like nutrient partioning and hormonal "skyrocketing"... anyone with knowedgable info about this please feel free to add to my post!
 
Gotta agree with stlxnstones. I also mak sure i'm getting my fiber in each day as well as drinkin my 2 gallons of water. The biggest thing i think most ppl screw up on is sleep (8 hours uninterrupted sleep and a 1 hour nap is essential ED for maximum growth). You can also add MCT's to your arsenal of healthy fats besides borage oil, evening primrose oil, flaxseed, hemp, EVOO to keep ya growing.
 
I usually eat alot of junk on a bulker........bigmacs, ding dongs, KFC,MCd's, wendy's woman and children..........all the shit that will kill ya if you eat long term works as a great bulking food for me. I drink a couple protien shakes in there but I mainly focus on lifting heavy and slow.

And I eat A LOT when on a bulking cycle. Well over 6k calories and def drink alot of water and get that sleep in.
 
i garrentee u go ona diet ill give u being 6k cals ull come out of a bulk 300% leaner then if u were to wing it wit junk food!... NO LIE I WAS BULKIN WIT ~4500-5500 cals depending on the day. CLEAN FOOD , my stomach was in pain for the first few weeks but me n my girlfriend got used to the 6 month preggo look :)
 
Im a naturally lean guy so when I bulk on junk i still look good.......Ive bulked on clean foods before but I find my strength is through the roof on high fat crap diets.lol

Ive used many bulking diets over the last ten years and thats whats worked best for me.

Im non competetive so small differences between my bulker and others dont make a huge differance to me.

LMAO!! That is what it looks like, doesn't it? My wife thinks I look pretty funny when I'm like that.

Agreed. I would get a double QPer w/cheese and 5 of those double cheeseburgers that are on the dollar menu. No fries, who needs 'em?
 
food...I don't really closely monitor my diet besides protein intake. I would grab two double cheeseburgers & mcchicken as a snack almost daily. lol.
 
I have two shakes in the middle of the night which I find works weel and keeps my metabollism up. If I don't have the shakes I find it hard to eat in the morning. Also lots of my carbs come from oats which are a great bulker and easy got down, I could not get 100 grams of carbs down in the form of rice but it is easy with oats.
Have to agree consistency is the main key to getting bigger, there are no big secrets!
