ok well here is a site i found about a month ago or little earlier, and well I think its pretty cheap but well it has 23g of protein per serving and well a serving is 1 scoop. so im wondering how much a scoop would be. because well I can drink a glass of milk which is 7g of protein per serving which i get 3 from a fullglass which is 21g of protein from just 1 glass of milk. But well just the scoop is 23g so like thats not including the milk. so like im wondering a fullglass of a shake how much protein i will be getting. can anyone figure this out for me. and besides the protein it gives stuff like carbs and whatever which i need too. but well i dont really know the importance of them. just know that im suppose to get betting atleast 1g of protein per lb of body weight. and i weight about 125 or a little over.

well here is the site so you can look over it

oo well im 15 I weight 125-130 im about or somewhere from 5'7" to 5'10" and i want to weight around 200-250. I been gaining about 2lbs a week from what it looks like but using my moms really old scale. dont know how accurate. well how big is a scoop of the stuff though thats what i needed to know to figure out how much protein was in a shake. but well do you think the shakes are worth it.?? because if so ill try to get them. because i know they got the extra protein and carbs but i really dont know the importance of the carbs and everything else just really the protein. but i think im benching around 150 close to it maybe a little below. im using a weightmachine.... so cant tell for sure and does not tell you the weight on the plates. but i want to just get as huge as i can. because im into basketball and boxing, and well you need conditioning for both and hopefully when school starts back i can get into them. because I think there is a boxing ring at my new school in the High School. i have about a 30 - 32 inch vertical and i want around a 35 before school starts back or maybe a 38 or somewhere around that range. because i used to have a 35 inch vertical but after basketball season. i dont have to train because there is no coach. so my conditioning and leg muscles declined. so i just want to weight around 200-250lbs , vertical gain atleast 5 inch , and just get bulked up... to put it short

mixing with milk you are gonna get extra protein,....as for vertical jump...try squats,..sprints..you strenght shoes if you have them....work on your middle (abs) that's where you are gonna get your most jump from... eat clean....get your vitamins... healthy fats.. like flaxseed, fish oil,...tons of natural supplements...

Apparently ,,,mixing whey in milk slows down the absorption rate.Your first shake in the morning and your PWO shake should be in water. The rest are o.k but id use skimmed personally.

you have some very lofty goals and I think that's great but keep in mind that if you want to be very athletic you have to take your weight into consideration. You're not going to be able to be 250lbs and be able to jump very well... also how tall are you? you're post says somewhere between 5'7" and 5'10" that's a huge difference.... Keep reading and researching and eating lots of good healthy foods and you'll continue growing like a cahmp. Good luck.

this is good to go also it wouldnt hurt to throw in some clean &jerks to your routine

One serving of milk is 8 oz. Three servings is 24 oz and that has about 21 grams of protein. That is a BIG glass of milk. BUT, I agree that skim milk is a great source of protein and I try to drink milk rather than crap like soda when I am trying to bulk up

When you buy the protein shake mix, it comes with a scoop in the container. You just need to look at the can to see how many servings you get for the money. When I mix mine, I usually use two scoops and mix in about 8 oz of water or skim milk. That is about 50 grams of protein in one shake if I use milk.

Protein is only one part of the equation. Get a couple of good books on weightlifting that discuss diet as well. You need quality carbs (not white bread or the bun on a burger) and healthy fats (not from french fries).

You don't have to be crazy about this, but if you eat veggies and fruit and get enough protein and avoid most junk food you can make gains. Otherwise you might just get fat.

ok well im around 5 8 - 5 9 just found tape measure. Yah i would lose my vertical from putting on that much weight, but my legs would adapt because i would be putting on about 2-5 lbs every week. so my legs would get stronger from me walking and like jumping exercises and playing basketball. but not be anywhere near how it would be if i did not gain the weight. but im not gonna be that heavy until like 2 years lol. i think id like to be around more like 180-200. but im not really worried about my vertical as much as i am about bulking up for boxing. because i want to box more than i want to play basketball im just like adding training for basketball which helps with boxing on to my routine and lifestyle, so i can fall back on basketball if i have to. but if i got a shot at boxing how hard i would work for it, i would not fall back. so basketball im really just using that as training. even though i like both sports and good at both. but if i have opportunity for one of them i would change my whole life for the other... or whatever im like getting confused from all this typing because i just woke up. But ya the glasses of milk that we drink are big glasses. 3 serving of that is alot but im used to it. been drinking stuff out of these glasses for 10 years. my stomach has grown for what i eat and drink.

but can someone just tell me in there opinion are those shakes from that site worth it to buy?? like how much you get and quality for the price

man ......i would love to help, but i dont even know where to start. :dizzy: bro keep reading.

ok cool im gonna read that thing by arnold and ill buy the shakes. and keep up my training but question about skim milk and whole milk ok well is the amount of protein per serving the same between them. if not than i guess ill just drink whatever i can get.. because people say skim milk is better. and that is the only thing i have been drinking for past 4 days so i have no problem just drinking milk. and im gonna have to get a free weight bench as soon as i can get one. because i have a machine and those things are not as good and freeweight i can always add weight or lower weight and buy more weight if i need.

so does anyone know a site where i can get a really good free weight bench

If that's you in the avatar - don't worry about any supplements, shakes or anything else like that. Just eat a solid meal every 2 hours. That's all. Don't worry about anything else about your diet. And train hard and sleep a lot.

Go to my site www.professionalmuscle.com and click on the MegaFitness banner you will see there. It's the best site for equipment. Just make sure you always go into it through the banners on my site, otherwise they won't pay me for referrals.

While you are there (my site, not megafitness), go to the Article's section and read the Sticky called 'Growth principles for beginners'.

I've made that thread a Sitcky here on this board as well so you can read it here.

I'll just bump everything Big_A has said.

He gave you some very solid advice Malic. Especially about just eating every 2 hours and not worrying about supplements.

Be consistent with your training and stick with it. Get yourself a bench and some free weights.

One last thing. Building quality muscle takes years of hard work and dedication. Be patient, be consistent and you will reach your goals.

You have the right attitude to start and if you stick with it you'll do great.

Good Luck Bro'

I wouldn't try to keep up with Arnold just yet. He was the man, but there is speculation that he just put out all those kick ass workouts to intimidate his competitors. As far as becoming a better athlete gaining that much weight at one time is not really going to help you this year. Gaining 30lbs and putting 5in on your vertical is an unrealistic goal by the beginning of this school year. Mayber after like 6-8 months. Also Boxing and Basketball are two different sports that work two different muscles. Training for one isn't necessarily going to make you better at the other. What I think you should do is scale back you goals to be more obtainable, and work up to your more lofty goals. This will prevent you from getting down on yourself and getting frustrated and giving up on yourself. Maybe set a goal of maybe 10lbs and 2in on your vertical. Start small and then work your way up...everyone here had to start somewhere and they have worked long and hard to get to where they are so you are not going to turn yourself into a gigantic boxer, who plays pro basketball on the side over night. Good luck and train hard!!!!

i guess i should of explained a little more about my goals. those goals are not ment for me to get to them before school starts back thats like later down the road. thats how big i wanna be. around 200 lbs with like a 40 inch vertical is what im shooting for. but i know thats not gonna happen for a while but i can work at it until i get it. and well basketball and boxing uses conditioning and coordination which both requires. now basketball requires alot of leg strength and well boxing uses your legs for power on your punches i mean if i work one. i will work the other in return just not the same way. like mr meogy on karate kid he made him do all that work , to his house but in return that kid learned karate. by doing just that.
