Shoulder Workout

What does everyone here do for shoulder workouts? My shoulders are by far my weakest body part in terms of size. I was planning on giving Big A's "Growth Principal for Beginner's" workout a try when I get back from vaca in a few weeks, but my problem with that is that it works Chest and Shoulders on the same day and by the end of my chest workout, even if it's only 1 exercise, it will drastically decrease the weight I use for shoulders limiting their gains. For lagging delts, should I give them their own day? Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

I think that the exercises don't necessarily have to be exactly as BigA wrote. You always have to adjust to how your body reacts. The biggest thing is to perform the exercises in the manner he outlined. By doing my exercises the way outlined, I have been able to continually increase every workout so far by either reps or a little more weight. I do chest and arms Monday, legs/lower body on Wednesday, and back and shoulders on Friday. If you need to make a separate day for shoulders, I see nothing wrong with it.

Actually I do like the way you split it out Chest/Arms, Lower, Back/Delts. I'll give that a shot.

PJT how are you progressing iron wise with your shoulder exercises?

It's definitely not a strong point of mine, but the weight goes up gradually. I've had some recent back problems that have kept me out of the gym here and there so it's tough to say where I'm at right now, my progress has been a little hindered due to that. I'm just thinking, overall, my shoulders don't match up to the rest.

B2S - I actually like the idea of a back/shoulder/trap workout like Tony suggested. Gonna give that a go and see how that works.

i start off with military dumbells 90,105,120,130 for work set, then i do military on the smith machine 135,225,315,335 work set, then front raises with dumbells supersetted with cables. the i do side raises on cables supersetted with this machine we use for flys and the other way for shoulders

Let us know your progress.

I will Tony. I actually plan to use Big A's routine, but split it out exactly how you mentioned. I'm going to try this for 3-4 months and keep my results. I will post them throughout.

My delts are about the only thing that grows on me.....but heavy, 4-6 rep BB and./or dumbbell presses work great.

I always use a full range of motion though, and I got long arms. But it definitely works and hits some upper chest too. I work chest and delts together.

I don't have a workout partner so I use the military Hammer Strenth Press or a smith. I would almost kill myself trying to press dumbells that were over 100 without a spotter. I never do quite the same workout-sometimes I do a burn warmup with the laterat raises, the go to heavy presses, finish with a reverse peck deck, bent over raises or standing lateral row. I don't do any front delt isolation-I think you get pleanty from flys and bench on peck day. If anything someones always lacking in the rear.
