Kidney probs related to Gear

I was admitted to the hosptial a while back with pissin blood and ass load of protein in my urine and a temp of 103.5. It wasnt a kidney stone, the doc believed it could be acute glomerular nephritis. I drink 3 liters of fluids a day and eat strict. Hardly any carbs. not taking any supps at this time. I havent done gear since the end of may this year. Could it be just bad luck, my strict diet with 0 carbs I dont think it could be related, but could it affect me again if i decide to do gear again in the future? Or should i just pull my doc aside and ask him... i know all docs are gonna say NO! dont do that, but i really cant let the cat out to anyone since i work in the health care field myself. :puke:

not to flame dude but if you work in the health field you should know better than to cut out all carbs-your asking for problems...eat some rice drink some OJ talk to your doc and get some blood work done

Excessive protein is hard on the kidney's bro...I would go off the high protein diet and do a moderate protein, and moderate carb diet for a while. Also drink more water.

yeah i know, should know better. Im only putting in about 150gms protein daily since im not working out, i just dont want to blow up since i cant hit the gym right now, i gain weight like crazy. gotta appt tom, so should i bring up the gear then or just see what the labs say?

Don't bring up the AS- you will get a lecture and a bunch of questions like where did you get the stuff. It is the excess protein and your blood/liver panels will be way out of whack for a while. It took 4-5 months for my blood tests to come back in the normal range. My two cents.

Bringing up AAS can cause some problems with insurance especially if you have insurance through your work. I believe your work has access to your insurance records if they so desire if this is the case. Also you don't want doctors to assume that AAS is the cause of any problems that you may have in the future. Only admit to it if it's a life or death situation...even then I would think twice. lol.

ok, sounds good. What about using gear again in the future, im talking like 2-3yrs from now. i see that if i dont have any more problems during that time stretch, it should be cool to start one. Let yall know how tests go tom, i talked to a doc back home in LA, he said that since i lift, that i could have torn off a small piece of muscle, kinda like pulling a muscle and it went into my kidneys and started to break down. he says it happens alot with athletes. I actually started a new work out and pulled my lower back, so it could be.....find out tom...thanx guys.

I've never heard of that before...I know that working out will cause an elevation of liver enzymes at first glance, but with more precise tests in can be determined that it's not actual damage. Kidney tests on the other hand I thought were more indicative of a problem. Make sure you get everything checked out properly and you should wait until your tests are normal before even thinking about using gear again.

Being big doesn't matter when your dead...ya know? You should be very careful in the future and determine what caused these effects.

You can always make an appointment with a nephrologist(kidney doc) and DON'T sign the Hippa forms and don't put it on your insurance. Just go to him tell him straight up what is going on, bring your test results and get his feedback. He will lose is his ass if he shares this with anyone, so you are safe. See a good doc in another city if you are still concerned about word of mouth.

Also, is your CPK level elevated? This indicates muscle damage and can manifest itself with you pissing blood, fever, kidney's shutting down, etc.

Remember, living on kidney dialasys is pretty tough. Don't screw around and get your blood tests done regularly. Use gentler AAS if you must use them. No orals. Drink more water/cranberry juice.

Cranberry juice--not a combination of juice like cran-apple or cran-grape--straight cranberry juice is excellent for helping the kidneys. Drink a lot of it and a lot of water.

also one of the ovious but most forgotten is drinking while on gear or off for that matter. If you drink stop, and wait till you get tested again and see if that is one of the causes. As far as insurance goes DO NOT TELL your doc. Mine turned out to be an ASSHOLE about it and said that if i did not stop he would write it on my medical file that im a roid user(AKA drug user) if your medical insurance sees that they may drop your coverage. Or if you ever plan on getting a new one they will make it so expensive that you will not be able to afford it. If they can not figure it out and its a threat to your health then and only then should you come clean.

what a dick!

One option would be to find one of those docs that specializes in "Life Extension" which basically translates into giving patients RX of HGH and steroids. I know a guy who goes to a doc like this.

The plus side is the doc is on gear too (you look at him and it is obvious). So he isn't going to lecture you unless you are doing something stupid. The down side is he DOESN'T take insurance so you pay for it all, and he sells the drugs to you as well (so you get hosed if you buy from him).

But, if you can find one of them to see, they should know what the hell is going on, it won't fuck up your insurance. If you are paranoid, you could even get an RX for the shit you use and just keep the RX around and continue to purchase it the same way you had been. That way, if you ever get busted, you should be in much better shape - you are basically doing the same thing that seniors do when they drive to Canada to get drugs; you have an RX, but you are buying it from another vendor b/c of the cost.

This is really good info. Bump it up

If youare looking for an anti-aging doc, there is a directory of them here:
http://www.worldhealth.net/p/51.html

But, since they focus on rich old guys, they are not cheap, and often charge a big sum just to do the diagnostics that they "require" of all new patients.

My guess is that if you talk with at an initial meeting and just tell him you want someone who knows AAS to look over your labwork, he might do it.
