Forearm workout with handgrips

Ok back like 2-3 years ago when I was like in the say 7th grade since im in 10th now. I had a single hand grip thing that was 5lbs which is not much at all. But I would squeeze it all the time as much as I could. I got to the point where I would squeeze till the bars on the top got red hot and have to come back like an hour later to squeeze it with my other hand.

Well I have gotten alot of great advice on this forum so far. So what is everybodies opinions on handgrips? Since 5lb is not much at all for handgrips. What is the routine I should use for it? because I used to squeeze like almost everyday or everyday till I couldnt squeeze anymore . I would do this like close to 5 times a day and my forearms got huge. They have shrank a little bit but still huge considering I havent used handgrips in 2-3 years.

So what im basically asking is that since 5lb grips are really light weight training what should be the routine I do for it? every Monday , Wednesday , and Friday? Or what should I do because just 1 or 2 a week until I can not squeeze anymore doesnt seem like enough. Because I would do alot more than that before and got HUGE RESULTS.
 
If it's not broke don't fix it. If you are weight training now I would incorperate some forearm movements when you train your biceps. Try doing heavy hammer curls making it a point to use 5lbs more each week. Do reverse curls (always use an easy-curl bar for this as it can strain your tendons) only use moderate weight on this one, I like doing behind-the-back barbell wrist curls, and reverse wrist curls off the preacher bench. I do alot of drop sets and supersets until my forearms are so tight I can't grab anything.
 
Thanks for the site bilter , ive always tried to find handgrips at wal-mart , if I ever found them I never saw anything strong enough to be worth buying.
 
I'm running off 150lbs right now-need to upgrade to 200lbs :)
my forearms really don't get any bigger just more veins
 
Nice , I think im going to try to start off with like 60's since I dont really know how much I can squeeze since ive been off handgrips for so long. But ill work my way up though. I think when I first started I saw veins and size together.
 
If you want a strong grip search the site, they have many many peices of equipment for grip strength. The #4's have only ever been closed by 2 people. I know one could crush a full beer can with 1 hand and a raq potato. Yikes!!!
