Pre-workout meal

Ok so last night before I went to bed, I made myself an eggwhite omelette and had a shit load of cottage cheese. This morning when I woke up I downed a protein shake and a few eggwhites. I feel so sick to my stomach right now I don't think I'm going to make the gym. Pretty sure I'm going to puke any moment now LOL.

Any ideas as to what I can eat before bed/upon waking (I train 45 minutes after waking up) that won't upset my stomach?

Maybe it was the omelette/cottage cheese mix that did it. I'll stick with the cottage cheese and protein shake from now on, but what would be best to eat pre workout?
 
pre workout you want to eat some complex carbs
i usually go with oatmeal with some raisins or low fat peanut butter
 
I usually eat 1/2 of a whole-wheat begal and a prot shake ~30min prior to training. Anything later than that makes me feel bloated and quezzy :drooling: especially on leg day. I know other guys that like simple sugers right before going in, but I have never tried it.
 
The shake is good with carbs. Make sure the shake is not too heavy and too much protein can take away some energy. But the quick digesting whey will stop the body from feeding on the muscles so I recommend it in the morning. Was this just a once in a while thing or what? I have got sick before rushing food or eating in the morning after sippin' back on a little of grampas cough medicine the night before. I would just hold back on heavy protein until after the workout, a shake with no more than 20gs protein and some good carbs like oatmeal and fruit will be fine. Have the omlet and cottage cheese after the workout.
