Protein Powder without Lactose - Any recommendations?

It appears that I am unfortunately entering the realm of being effected by lactose so I think my Whey protein days are on their way out. I have seen some protein powders that are egg based but I am looking for recommendations as I am not going to be able to consume 6 eat meals a day. Hopefully there is something that will fit my need and taste good. Any advice?

I wake up looking lean and by the end of the day I look smooth and bloated. Not to mention the ridiculous room clearing farts!

You just need a good quality Whey Protein "Isolate." Not all whey protein is created equal. The term isolate is used to show that the protein has been isolated from the lactose. However, there are many protein powders that claim to be isolates, but when you look at the ingredients it shows a blend or mix of proteins. The best I've found (and the price reflects) is by Species Nutrition. If you want to skimp a little, I would go with TrueNutrition.com and go for one of their versions of isolates. The more expensive you go, the better the quality gets. I get decent results from their Cold Filtration Whey Isolate. Give em a try and hopefully you won't have any more issues. TrueNutrition.com also has a shit load of other types of proteins, but you should be fine with the whey isolate.

Trunutrition trutein is great protein. You could also buy an isolate and mix it with powdered egg whites for a slower absorbing addition. But it honestly doesn't sound like you are lactose intolerant. I use to get cramps and really bad gas from gaspari protein. Don't have problems with anything else. Whey concentrate doesnt have that much lactose in it. Make sure your protein doesn't have any casein protein. What protein are you using now?

I am currently using Intek Evolution and IsoFlex. Any opinions on those?

Long ago I used to drink the Max Muscle High 5 for years without issue. I switched to BSN Syntha-6 shortly thereafter and was fine and then they must have switched up the formula because and many others destroyed our stomachs. Ever since I have been on the Intek until recently when it has started to give me issues. I alternate between the Intek and the IsoFlex.

Allmax makes good products. Trutein is worth a shot. That is a very fine powdery protein. You set it down to hard and a cloud of protein smoke will be in your kitchen. Digests very easy. Also has 100mg of protease digestive enzymes and 2.5 grams of our Prebiotic Fiber Blend. Here is some more info on protein and digestion.

[h=2]Too Few Carbohydrates[/h]If you are using a low-carb protein shake, it may be sitting in your stomach longer than usual, causing bloating, gas and other negative effects. Protein takes longer to digest than carbohydrates, so the more carbs in your shake, the quicker the bulk of it will leave your stomach. If you are using a casein powder, the effect is even more pronounced, because casein is a very slow-digesting protein. Look for a protein powder with a more balanced protein-to-carb ratio, or choose a faster-digesting protein, such as whey or soy.

[h=2]Air[/h]Your digestion problems may not be caused by the powder itself at all, but rather by your preparation method. The instructions on most bottles tell you to mix the powder and milk in a blender with the addition of ice cubes to get the thickest, creamiest shake. While this method certainly makes it taste better, it incorporates plenty of air into the mix. You swallow the air when you drink the shake, and the air gets released in your stomach as the shake itself digests. This can result in bloating, cramping and gas, but it is easy enough to resolve. Simply mix your shake in a shaker bottle, and shake only until it is blended. Shop around for an "easy-mix" powder that dissolves completely and quickly to minimize the air bubbles.

I'm lactose intolerant and have used egg protien also. But lately I've been using Dymatize Iso-100 whey protien "isolate", as someone else mentioned. It also says "hydrolized", whatever that means. I mix it with lactose free milk and have no bloating or gas, usually. Another thing I like about it is it mixes fairly easily, doesn't clump up too much or make protien glue that won't dissolve or come off the fork or the sides of the glass.

Vegan protein blend (pea, soy, riz, hemp, etc).

ive yet to find a good pea or soy protein..and man hemp was nasty..what about the new carnivor protein(beef protein)thats pretty good seems abit over priced but i guess you need quality over quantity
