Chocolate mint protein shake

1 cup cold water 2 tablespoons peppermint Torani syrup 2 tablespoons heavy cream 1 packet diet hot cocoa mix * 2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder * 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum 8-10 ice cubes Put everything except the xanthan gum and ice cubes in a blender; blend briefly on low speed. Turn the blender to HIGH and gradually add the xanthan gum and then the ice cubes, one at a time. Blend until smooth and thick. Makes 1 serving * I use Kroger brand Fat Free Hot Cocoa Mix which is sweetened with Splenda and only has 4 carbs per serving. The carb counts for this recipe are based on whey protein powder that has 3 carbs per scoop (1/3 cup).
With 1 scoop whey protein: Per Serving: 270 Calories; 13g Fat; 29g Protein; 9g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 7g Net Carbs

With 2 scoops whey protein: Per Serving: 410 Calories; 15g Fat; 55g Protein; 12g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 10g Net Carbs



I used 2 scoops of whey protein powder in mine but I'm providing the counts for 1 scoop in case you'd like to lower the carbs a little. If you can't get peppermint Torani syrup, you could use some vanilla Da Vinci syrup and a little peppermint extract to taste.
