Pulled Bicep Recovery Time??

So, I must have pulled my left Bicep Thursday. I didn't notice a snap or a pop. I woke up Friday and it was kinda sore. Then, Saturday morning it was bruised and sore which just progressively got worse all day and today. Its not extremely painful, but it looks bad. I'm just curious about how long the recovery time will be and if you guys have any suggestions on what to do for it as well.

Thanks in advance fellas.....

Aarrrrr shit bro that sucks....sorry man..nothing worse...did the same to my hamstring in April and it still ain't right tight as hell..I know its not what u want to here...looks like some killer legs for you for a good weeks..ice and compression bandage hepls alot..

Yeah. It sucks ass. I kinda figured I'd be out at least a week. Maybe 2 and damn I was just making some gains

i had the same exact thing happen to my right hamstring, i don't know how or when it happened, i just know one day my wife said "what is that!!!!" and i looked back behind my leg and it looked as if i had been hit by a car, i couldn't believe my eyes, and i never felt any pain, and to this day don't know when it happened exactly, obviously it was a leg day but no idea what exercise i did it on,

anyhow , i just took it easy and worked through it, and the bruising went away after a few weeks, but i kept training pretty good

I say give it a week then start some stretching if that dont hurt after 6-7 days try some bands hook it on your foot and do some curls if that dont hurt week 3 do some light curls...all must be pain free before the next step..im only just starting weight free squats and light dead lift to try and get some strength back in mine..and that has been 2 months..like I said if its pain free then progress if not keep on the step till it is pain free..clearly its a rupture/tear..so take it easy no rush..im not in the medical field so I may be way if base..jmho..good luck and don't rush

that looks awful bro , could u please share Ur workout so we could avoid it lmao

hope u recover soon bro , its a good sign u don't have any pain but as cbs mentioned it looks like internal bleeding and there must be tear or something only mri would tell that how bad the tear is , rest and slowly get into proper workout bands are good way to start , don't rush bro take it easy hope u get well soon brother

DONT GET THE PURPLE BAND ITS LIKE 30-85 POUND..get the yellow or green..i got the purple one..dam its heavy..

I appreciate it brother. Gonna kill legs today and see you Chest feels tomorrow. I believe its when I go to do pulling exercises that its either gonna hurt or not. But, I have it planned out to where I will have 7 complete days off between pull days, so fingers crossed...... ;)

And, I was doing arms guys. Super setting Bi's and Tri's. One tricep exercise followed immediately with a bicep move. Then 60-90 seconds rest. Then again. 4 moves per tri and bi for 8 exercises altogether 4 sets each. All done in under 42 minutes......

I had the same damn thing on my left bicep like 2 years ago! I think I posted it on here somewhere. I had no pain though, I laid off all lifting for a week or so and I started light and never had an issue since with it.

Thanks Metal. That's what I plan to try and do.... You know how hard it is though.... Staying out for a week is UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Just think of it like this , out 1 week or gamble on being out for 6 months. It helps that decision lol. You can still do cardio and legs! Just don't do a ton of weight. I knew guy that tore his bi tendon from the leg press sled, he squeezed the handles so hard it snapped! He's a pretty big dude too

HOLY SHIT... I tore my right bicep on April 30th and my shit did not even bruise that bad. I had a distinct POP when I hurt my arm.

I'd get it checked out just to make sure there is not a larger issue going on. Also I had zero pain in my tear.

I agree, you may wanna get it checked out, I originally popped about a 1/4 of my tendon from the top of my humorous of my long head about a year before I completely ruptured it. I'd go min one week maybe 2 without much of a pulling movement. Mine did not hurt too bad initially i was in the middle of a deadlift, but later that night it started hurting pretty damn bad. Just take it easy brother im still walking around without a long head on my right arm, where mine ruptured the suture wouldn't hold on the tendon, I'm just glad it was my long head and not the short.

OUCH, i personally would have an MRI done on it if i could afford it.

i would lay off everything myself, including lower body as you may be using your bicep to hold the bar on your back or grip and pull the handles on the leg extension unbeknownst to you.

Collapsed lung.....went fishing then stopped by the emergency room to inflate it back up.
Cellulitis .............waited till my underwear wouldn't fit before I went to the hospital. Cut a hole in my ass you could stick your finger inside and drained a gallon of puss.
Torn hamstring.....looked like I got hit by a car....never felt it.

Holy shit man!! I've got to share. Last week I noticed a MASSIVE bruise on the back of my right calf. Deep purple the size of a tennis ball. I had no idea how I got it. I didn't hurt it training, didn't knock into it, no pain, no strength loss. Nothing. Just a massive bruise.
This is it more than a week later

I have actually progressed to some slightly HEAVIER weight since then. I was told by my massage guy that it's likely fascia tearing from the extreme training and stretching I put my calves through 5 times a week.
My point is take it easy and see how it feels. It may just be some fascia tearing.

Hey Dude,

That's kinda what I was thinking. I know it wasn't a Tendon snap cause I've been spotting someone before when it happened and its a literal "POP" sound. I'm gonna baby it when I do start to pull again on Thursday or Friday which is the 7-8 days off mark. Although I have hit legs in those days off. But, now I'm just ready to get back to liftin some shit!!

I'm not stupid though,.....I'll take it easy and test the waters......

Thanks for all yall's help fellas,
Austin

Hit Chest today. Wore my elbow sleeve as a precaution. No pain at all with any lift, but of course they were all pushes. Going to lay off all pulling exercises for another week, then start back pulling slowly.

:)

That's a good sign man. No deformity, no pain, no weakness. Sounds just like mine
