Congradulations, kids are a blessing!!!

Encourage breast feeding so you get to sleep at night.

Thanks, man, he's amazing. Yeah we've got him breastfeeding but his schedule is way off, haha. And unless he's on a boob or skin on skin contact he's usually extra fussy

sincere congrats to you brother! i had my second one three weeks ago. my only advice to you is to really take it all in, your baby boy is growing and changing everyday so if he makes a certain cute little grunt today enjoy because it could be gone tomorrow. every moment is precious. one rule i have for myself with my babies is to never be the first to let go of a hug, that will be a rule i abide by for life.

welcome to the super dad club!

any questions bro let me know, i've been there and am there right now.

congrats again dude, this is a special time for both of us.

congrats bro! there is nothing like it. Just remember to be patient. He will learn exactly what you teach him every day till forever!

Yeah hour by hour I'm learning to be patient... Also learning his ticks and what he likes to get him to settle down... And 9mm I already got ridiculously excited bc he actually picked up the pacifier when it fell out of his mouth and put it back in

lol man i totally understand that!! i remember the first time the nurses came in to check on my first daughter they commented that she was so alert and strong and i felt a massive sense of pride like nothing else i'd felt before lol

I know I felt ridiculous but at the same time for 1 day old I thought it was nifty.. He has a crazy strong grip and the dude is raising his head up, too, which I think is crazy for a 1-2 day old!

Congratulations. My daughter forever changed my life 3.5 years ago and gave me a greater sense of purpose. It's almost mesmerizing to watch them grow physically, mentally and emotionally. Each year brings new joy and I think I have smiled more in the past 3.5 years than all of my previous years on this earth. Just in time for the holidays, Congrats once again!

Expect to have patience, and spend as much time as you can with them, be loving, do stuff with him, don't yell or hit stuff when you are mad, know that you have a human being with a clean slate, and make them a loving, caring person. annnnnnnd Congrats!

Thanks so far everyone... Does anybody have suggestions on how to try to keep them awake during the day so he might go to sleep at night? Man when he wants to sleep he can sleep!

It's pretty much impossible the first couple months to get them to stay awake at certain times, but after that try to keep a regimen as close as you can on a daily basis and he will start sleeping when its time to rather than whenever, but it does take a little bit of time.

Yeah it seems that way, I sit there blow on his belly, tickle him all while calling him and he doesn't even flinch haha

haha yeah give him a little time, being born is physically exhausting on the baby too, so the first couple days they will be tired, try to rest when he does, when you can!
