Microwave Scrambled Eggs in a Mug

This delicious Microwave Scrambled Eggs in a Mug recipe is not just going to save you time but also a ton of money as well!

The best part? It really doesn’t take that much longer than the “original thing”.

I’ve been seeing these “new” microwave egg bowls everywhere and sure, they’re convenient and come in a ton of variations but they also cost like $3.00 for 20 or 30 grams of protein!

I don’t know where you live but here you can buy an 18 count of large eggs for that much or even less.

Speaking of egg cost, let me know in the comments below how much you pay for 18 large eggs and where you’re located! Here in New England they’re around $2.00-3.00 depending on who you buy them from.

Microwave Eggs

All you need to make this recipe is just a regular mug or anything microwave safe that’s as big as a mug and can you guess what else? A microwave (which you needed anyways for the original thing)!

Add into your mug 2 large whole eggs, 2 large egg whites, 1/2 an ounce of a milk substitute, 1 tablespoon of bacon bits, an 1/8 cup of your favorite cheese (I like a cheddar blend), some chopped up vegetables (bell peppers today), and a pinch of garlic powder or anything else you want like some chili powder to kick it up a notch.

Give those ingredients a nice mix and throw your mug in the microwave for :30 seconds.

Pull it out, mix it up again, and repeat.

As you do this, they’ll start to look more and more scrambled.

The whole process for these microwave scrambled eggs takes around :90 seconds but this will depend on how powerful your microwave is.

You can top these with hot sauce, ketchup, or anything else that fits your macros.

There’s no preservatives in these microwave scrambled eggs or unnecessary ingredients, you can make unlimited variations depending on your cravings, and you can make them to fit your macros that day.

Not bad, right? Plus the whole recipe, at least for me, was like .50 cents and in my opinion? They taste even better than the store bought ones.

If you’re strapped for time you could also make your microwave scrambled eggs mix the night before and just pop it right in the microwave when you’re planning on eating it the next day.

We have chickens so the cost is great! Also Aldi's has eggs for $2.65 per dozen. I love Korean steamed eggs in the microwave
