Running before workout

What do you guys do. I need to start doing some cardio bad. I really want to buy a tread mill and put in my gym at work but its kinda crowded now. Also running isn't too good on me since 5 years ago I broke my ankle in 6 places playing basketball, lol, yes my whole left side of my body is rebuild. It turned my toes back to my heal and my heal was where my toes usually were and my calf was sitting on top of my shin lol. I can still run but it gives me problems when its cold or raining, but I really don't know what else to do for cardio. Don't laugh guys but I did do Insanity and it helped and made my ankle feel better im guessing from all the stretching.

Heres a pic of the scar. We used to shoot ball 4-5 times a week and thats all I needed for cardio, now I don't do shit for cardio

If definitely stay away from impact running. Buy an elyptical or stationary bike.
 
I was afraid you were gonna say eliptical, them bitches are expensive. My wife hates me shaving at least my arms and legs that is lol, chest and other areas are smooth haha
 
Just raise the treadmill to the highest incline I will go to. And walk at a fast pace. And you will burn twice as many calories as you would if you was running.. It's good cardio..

i agree with lightsout...incline treadmill ..i do 15-20 mins bike 1min high intensity flatout balls to floor 1min uphill on highest setting 1mins high setting cool down them start allover agian killler trust me..i dont do much running no more cuz i get real bad shin splints and me knees are no good..
 
I would use a bike for cardio, thats all i ever used even if i was prepping for a show, you can get plenty of cardio with a bike, and I dont think an incline treadmill is such a great idea with ur ankle issues but i could be wrong, i just say that cause i have ankle issues and i know inclines hurt my ankles
