This has been a pretty aggravating venture to say the least. I always make very tight deals where dealers are more or less making the bare minimum and moving metal, but this is ridiculous.
Call backs that take days
Lack of communication
Not knowing info about what they are selling
Not knowing cars at all really.....

WTF

All too common with dealers now a days. I used to make my sales people call other dealers and act like customers and ask questions that they most often get. I'd do this on a speaker in my meeting room so that all my sales staff could hear how stupid the guys down the street are. In car sales you only have to be one notch above the worst guy on the block in order to look like a super star.

My advice is to GO to the dealer that is closest and most likely where you will service your car for warranty work. Walk in, bypass ANY and ALL sales people and go to the slaes manager. Be nice, stay calm and tell him you are a serious qualified buyer and that you have had problems with other dealers and you are sick of it and ready to buy. You will get his undivided attention. If he pawns you off to a sales person, walk out. Go to the next dealer.

This is my best advice being in the car business for the past decade in sales management. I would bend over backwards for people who only wanted to deal with the manager. Heck it got me out of the dealership, I took the customer on test drives and did the entire deal. If I closed the deal I looked like a hero/stud to my sales people and I'd put the unit up as a free car deal for good deed done or high CSI score ect. I'd get quit a few deals like this a month.

Good luck bro...

let me ask you this, just wondering

how do you feel about people taking their vehicles to a dealership to get worked on after the warranty has run out?

hard to find an honest mechanic these days

best thing to do, is to go to a CarMax, they have always been square and no bullshit-my wife got her car there and I got my truck there

a buddy told me that you can still talk them down one or two grand-I got my truck for less than 5 grand what it was worth because they KELLY BLUE BOOKED it and didn't add in the extras

Carmax is a joke. No different than any other dealer. They just have brainwashed people to think they are something they are not. I once tried to sell a car to them, my own private car and they were almost 8K off the average book price of the car. They were clueless.

Dorian its hard to answer your question. I think there are many honest dealerships and good mechanics out there working in them. However there are people at dealers I do not want putting my car on a lift much less doing anything serious. Most dealers including mine have "master techs" who have been there over 20 years and can actually problem solve and diagnose cars without a laptop. Most techs at dealers are parts changers. They cannot properly diagnose a problem.

I hope that helps but I'd seek out a tech that has a couple decades worth of experience at the same place and same brand.

Hey Ch3no great info bro thanks! I was really considering doing just this today, but hearing it from someone else is def a push.
A guy up north a little bit that was a sales manager told me "There is no such thing as a Dodge Daytona" I had to school him, but also keep myself from smashing his teeth down his throat, and I don't like to be like that.
I literally have a dealer 2 miles away but they don't have a huge amount of supercrew f150 ecoboost's. On their factory window stickers it also says the eco engine is over 2000 of an option, where as online it says 750 , and down the road their stickers say the eco engine is 1100... very odd.
I have my 3900 mile 2013 DAytona I want to trade in, paid off

My Pops was a Fleet Manager for a dealership until he retired. So he still pretty much takes care of my purchases. Even had CH3NO2 call in a HUGE FAVOR for me when my whore ex wife screwed me over.
You've got to build relationships Brother. Do you know anyone in the industry who can take car of you?

Its common that the manufacturer changes the price throughout the year and there are some old and new prices on the window sticker. I know Nissan does this all the time. I'd have two EXACT cars in stock and one would be $5-800 more than the other. Its just mid year price change. This could be it. Make sure its not some kind of dealer markup bs addendum sticker.

I was interested in a Shelby or Raptor, but I couldn't deal with the idiots at the local Ford dealer. I had to go down the street to Lincoln and get a Navigator. Getting treated right makes a huge difference.

Correct. This is how the free market is supposed to work. Why give YOUR hard earned money to a bunch of idiot assholes. Go elsewhere and spread the word about how you were treated. Word of mouth is and always will be the best form of advertising.

they have a lot of rebates and incentives now so its cheaper for a 14 than a 13.
Trying to give my owned trade plus a few grand for a four door xlt ecoboost hopefully silver and grey or black interior

yep we went to a dealership once and knew the car we wanted just wanted to test drive it and they couldnt find the keys, guess what no sale,

the next dealership wouldnt bargain with me over $250 went the next town over and they were like we arnt gona throw a deal away over $250 done.
you think they would be trying to "sell" you a car it almost like they act as if they are doing you a favor.

that's just it-unless you know someone that works there...the mechanic, then your just rolling the dice

I'm throwing a P2000 code now-I've heard people on the Cummins Forums say that it could be the O2 sensors are just sooted up, but the stealership will clean them and charge you for new O2 sensors

I think that's one of the reasons that they don't allow people in the back to watch them work anymore-I'm sure it's a lawsuit thing too but now they can rape you and it's your word against theirs

I need to get some money saved and just delete all that shit

yeah anything with turbos you def want a programmer anyways brutha!

yeah work's slow right now but I've got my eye on one by H & S

Bro, I can't believe you haven't put a programmer and an exhaust on that thing yet! It's going to be a totally new truck. H&S makes good shit.
We just put some BMF Novakanes with Nitto Mud Grapplers on Silks truck and leveled it. Sick Bro. I'll post some pics
Metal, get a diesel Bro! All the great stuff about a truck and with some mods they are fast as hell. My top tune puts down like 540rwhp... right around 1000tq I think

dont buy a new chevy, the entire intake manifold is made out of plastic, what a joke.

Less susceptible to heat soak. Their manifolds have been composite since the LS1 if not before and they make sick power. As long as you don't slop up a wet nitrous kit it's all positive.
Personally... I'd go diesel... Well I did

Did you rally just say that? Nothing wrong with a composite intake manifold. I know for a fact because I ran mid tens with a plastic intake manifold ten years ago in my Trans Am. Plenty of people running 8 and 9 second 1/4 mile times and making well over 1000hp with a plastic intake. My 80K Corvette ZO6 had a plastic intake manifold and its your basic out of the box 200 MPH car that got 30 mpg on the highway.

People saying a plastic intake manifold is a joke reminds me of the same people who say dont buy a Glock because they are made of plastic.

OK so I finally got something!!!!!!!!!!
Finally found a dealership that could only make a 5k profit ll together instead of 10k and they didn't act like they were doing e a favor the whole time, just straight up. Thank God.
In other news ebay has been getting some attention already lol
