Staying with 1 vehicle, why can't I do it????????

So I have my supercrew all nice now, and I slowed down so much with my side jobs that I am wondering why I am paying more for gas than I need to be.
I am a car fanatic, I have had 14 so far, getting older and really just feel like getting a car that I have to fill up once every 2 weeks, something they make every single part for, by 8 different companies or more, making everything after market super cost effective.
My twin turbo'd truck runs a 14.6 in the quarter mile and can go 13.4 with just a programmer, gets good MPG for a half ton, I just put 33's on it and tinted it, but I am honestly about to say screw it and get a Civic.
Not my typical either luxury or RWD but, I kind of feel like living cheaper for a few years and see how it goes.... Ramble over.

I wouldn't. I'm a auto fanatic as well and I've been in your position many times. I need a vehicle I like though and rather than look to immediate savings and I look to future value. That's why I went with two very expensive diesels. I'm spending like $70 a week in gas now that I lost the company car and I changed gyms. The fact is that I feel good walking up to my truck and I'm not tempted to buy anything else and have to start all over with fixing it up. I'm almost done with this one. A lift pump will allow me to hit 570rwhp and then a small stereo and I'm good for say.... 20 years... or 700k miles

On a side note that Eco Boost is a bad ass bitch. Throw an exhaust, programmer, and intake on that fucker and have a blast. I also suggest new wheels. It makes such a difference Bro

Other stuff will go out before than, don't get me wrong diesels are amazing, and I believe if you take care of it, they will do that on the Motor, but all your suspension(linkages, control arm bearings) , your tranny, driveshaft bearing, sometimes brackets, your differential etc will go well before than.
I like the Eco boost, I got it to do side jobs, and I was super busy at first, now everything died down. I really am a car person too. I loe my truck, but I love a manual car that's low in the corners. A lot of truck only guys can't understand that feeling, but it's the joy you get when you go fishing, or to the range, it's fun, relaxing, but exciting, my adrenaline will be pumping when I really drive hard, which in the truck I will only do if there is a straight line. I love all though, wish I could have both right now honestly, but one day I def will. I think that new 15 f150 that is 765 pounds lighter will be noticeably dif than mine, which was voted truck of the year.

I know other things will go out. Then I'll upgrade them. I also love sports cars and I'll be looking at getting another in the next few years.

me to!

Yeah the best part of something breaking, to a car or truck enthusiast is----- we get to make it better than it was :D

I agree 100%. Bikes are my thing. I crashed my 02 Road King pretty bad in 2010, so it was 8 years old and had 65,000 miles. My biggest fear (aside from my dislocated/fractured, nerve damaged shoulder maybe never coming back from skeletal - looking ) was that the insurance company would total it! I didn't want a new, STOCK bike I'd have to start all over again customizing/hot rodding! Luckily, it wasn't totaled. Ended up with a custom, flame paint job, among other upgrades...

There's really nothing like it. You see things, smell things (like the smell of strawberries when riding by them in the field), that you NEVER experience when all closed in in a car. Even with the windows wide open or in a convertible, it's just not the same! Of course, getting off too fast, like at 60 mph, SUCKS! But it's not the speed; it's the sudden stops......... ;)

you get that with the vehicles I mentioned :D and with a steel tubular frame protecting you

My wife had a Miata when we got married. It was so small, the only way I could tolerate being in it was with the top down. That is better than being in a "cage" (as cars are referred to), but NOT the same as having your knees in the wind...

Don't get me wrong : I do like hot rod cars and trucks. Race cars, too, especially dirt track cars. Drag race 'door slammers' as well (others, too, but those are my favorites). One of these days, I hope to have a '65 Chevy Nova in the stable, along with my Road King and 1952 Harley Davidson FL (which is still a VERY incomplete project). All of that is going to gobble up a lot more money and time than I have available at this point, however.....

Yeah some of those nova's are pretty badass. I want too many cars too list is my problem. Can't have them all at once like a millionaire, so I will just go through 15 every 14 years haha

I hear that! I used to live across the street from a guy who became a real good friend, this was a little over 20 years ago when we met. He had a bike, but also a hot rod car. It got so if I heard him leave for work in his hot rod, I knew he'd be coming home with something different that day! He was always horse trading. He'd bring something home, give it "the Ralphie touch", enjoy it for a little while and get bored.... then down the road it would go, replaced by something else. Repeat every few months! He had everything from a topless, fenderless T bucket, a 71 Maverick with tunnel ram sticking out of the hood and some other tubbed, caged street cars we took to the dragstrip sometimes. As well as show worthy muscle cars and roadsters. It was fun just to watch what would come home next! :D

I have noticed myself making my vehicles really nice for the next person too. Kind of sucks sometimes, but it happens. This time was to get some shit paid, last time was to have a truck to do side jobs, the time before was to get my 2 cars to one bc of insurance costs (one practical car, one fun car)
