So I'm thinking my next rifle has changed.
I was planning on getting a lever action 30-30 bc it's so similar to my 35 lever action, but why?
It kicks like a bitch, and you have to get a grip on the front (no sling) like you are trying to strangle someone to death, or it will pop out of your front hand. The ammo for the 35 is ridiculous but it is fun, the 30-30 is more cost effective, and looks cool, butttttttttt now I am thinking I want a bolt action.
Since I don't need something that will shoot 700 yards, want something smooth, and that I can put a ton of rounds through at a good price I came to the conclusion of a Bolt action 223.
Thinking about possible a Savage Axis. I will mostly use it on paper, and at 100-200 yards.
A 30,06 I heard has a miserable kick after a while of shooting, and I don't really need a 308.
What do you guys think?

I can attest that a 30-06 kicks like a Damn mule!!
If your just looking for something to throw a bunch of rounds thru then the .223 is perfect. Rounds are fairly inexpensive and they are actually fun to shoot.
No need for a .308 unless your hunting moose.

Yeah we are fresh out of Moose here. I have seen a good amount of deer kills with a 223 too, and yeah I want to be able to have the rounds. When I spend 30 bucks for 20 rounds of the 35 I cringe lol

This work? LMAO 4 real tho... how bout a Zastava M85 7.62x39 Bolt Action?

.204 Ruger is essentially a 556/223 but it's an option. I like 308 I think it's a versatile gun... but 4 a lil less kick but better stopping power than 556/223 look at the 6.5 grendel or the 6.8spc.

Not a fan of how that bolt clearance is, and the ones I seen vids for looks like the bolt is very flimsy, like there is play room on it

You should have a 300 weatherby if your concerned on ammo prices. $3-4 per round.

lol nooooooo 3-4 dollars a round means I really need to kill whatever I'm shooting. 3 rounds in a piece of paper and don't touch it again until I need it lol

22lr LMAO cheap as hell. Russian M91/30 Mosin Nagant Rifle 7.62x54r caliber, ammo is $79.59 for 440 rounds... & it's alil bigger than a .308 kick shouldnt kill ya the M91 is pretty big. What gun is too flimsy btw?

7.62x54r $9 for 50 rds can't beat surplus.

22LR if you can find it.

Gov is stocking that shit for all of us swole motherfuckers for when we get out of line.

Look at 243 Winchester. It's a necked down 308 and is a VERY flat shooter. Can take just about any game in North America with it.

If you have an AR getting a bolt gun in 223 is not a bad idea so you dont have to buy multiple calibers.

The only AR I have is a M&P 15-22, specifically for fun and to shoot 1000 rounds out of
I kept the same caliber w my hand guns (for traveling and for in the casa)
I have a lever action like I said, but it is pricey, It's old and I don't like the rear floating sight, but it was my Grandpa's gun so it's staying with me forever.
How is the 308 ammunition cost usually? And do they keep it stocked, or is it like 22lr lol

Anything in 7.62x39 is the cheapest and easiest to get ur hand on ammo I love my sks's and ak-47&74 they are some of the best guns out u can do anything to them and the will shoot 99.9 of the time and if it don't shoot it's most likely the ammo
