So I'm still going through this crap with my cervical spine and lawsuits, but things are working out and there is light at the end of the tunnel. I've enrolled in classes and I'm going to get my Masters. I like to get special things to remember special dates or occassions and I'm finally in a place where I feel like I want to get something as a gift to myself as a reward of types. Silk agrees with this. I normally like to get a watch or a nice knife. While I regularly buy and sell knives and sometimes watches I don't do that with special purchases so this is something I will keep. I have only 3 watches the most expensive being a Bulova at about $300. These are two that I really like, but I'd also like to hear what 6ou guys think. The first is an Oris. It's a Swiss made watch and on part with the more boutique manufacturers.

The second is a Tag Heuer Aquaracer.

The Oris is an automatic which I like while the Tag is a quartz (battery). Functionally I would prefer the battery, but the idea of a battery sounds cheaper to me.
I want something substantial on the wrist. Something that is noticeable and subtle yet striking. Something that works with cargo shorts and a tank top or a suit and tie. My dream watch is the Rolex Sea Dweller, but that many years away. I really like the chunky dive watches, so any recommendations I'd love to check out. Both watches are $1600 - $1900 and that's really tops.

Turns out that Oris is no longer making that model. This is the closest version

Ya I really like the first one. I think it was a special edition. I may check out the local AD and see what they've got. I don't expect to see any used one since it's not a super expensive watch, but I'd love to get one thats a limited run. I actually found 2 on a watch forum that are in fantastic condition and just under 1k... but they are black bezel and face. Still gorgeous though.. and nearly half price

Tags are for ballers but I have huge wrists and need watches a little bigger I could never sport a Rolex there faces are tiny.I usually go with swiss army they have good sized faces.
If you have big wrists.

My wrists are pretty small, but my forearms are big. Bigger bezels look better on me. I found a guy with the same watch as pictured above in phenomenal condition, but it's a black dial and black face and he wants $1100. The blue face one is on Amazon under two sellers. One is a watch place with good feedback for $1550 and another is direct from Oris for $1830. There is only one authorized dealer near me, but retail is $2300... and I would think they would want close to that.

I found a grey market dealer with great reviews that's been in business for over 10 years. They have the watch I want for $1300 and they sent me a $50 off coupon and free shipping. I'm really hoping Silk warms up to the idea. It's alot of money at one time, but I've got 3 watches and not one of them lists for over $200 right now... I want something nice. After doing some reading I'll never have a Rolex. Even the "big" bezels are only 40mm... that's way too small for me. This watch is 46mm and the smaller version which looks almost identical is 43mm... but I want to get what I want if I'm spending this kind of money

Hands down I would have picked the first Oris, but seeing that's not an option then I would easily take the Tag over the second place Oris.

Interesting... what about this Oris... it's similiar, but doesn't have the small seconds and it's 43mm instead of 46mm

I have no experience with any of those. I can tell you that I absolutely LOVE my Prometheus watches. Less than a grand, automatic, the same movement as a Rolex, solid, tritium illumination, and nice enough to use to dress up or go out to a ball game in shorts.

Check them out Dude. They go up in price very quickly, and the have awesome watches. I've had my "jellyfish" for like 7 years and it still looks and works great.

Very nice!!! Actually I'm really into Deep Blue right now, but I've heard of Prometheus. Where do you get them. Ezine is the only place I've found Deep Blue

Personally I think it's wise that you're matching your watch to your balls. Very few people understand the importance of coordination when it comes to accessories.

BTW- that was a no on the last Oris you posted. The first one had way more class and style. The rest just looked plain to me.

Let me find a link. I've gotten them through a few places. I have another one, too. But it's not in this house.

If I matched my watch to my balls I would be watchless... and totally uninteresting in watches to boot!! Lol.. I'm really liking this one. Massive 46mm face 16mm thick 240grams. Seiko movement. 1000 meters and the indeces, markers, and arms and treated in superluminova...
