Booze and the Belly

How much of an impact does it really have on you BF? Or your overall body composition? Does anyone have any articles? It's hard to find a difinitive answer on this one.

If coors light says it only has 105 calories and 5 grms (20cals) of carbs where does the rest come from? It's sounds like a joke but, I think most of are fooling our selves if we think even a few beers on the weekend wont hurt. I would bet there is much more than 105 cal per bottle. Any comments?

Beer and Isulin? High GI or Low GI? Your thoughts?

The alchohol(excessive) not only lowers your free test count but lowers your whole metabolism for up to 72 hours AFTER you stop drinking..........I will post the article. Just give me a few.......

Yep heard of beer bellies before. However I think those guys are in a class of thier own and most drink gallons of beer daily. I'm not one of those guys and my question pertains to how much impact it has if you enduldge less often, 1-2 times a week but, thanks for the answer.

while "on", I certainly wouldn't recommend drinking alcohol at all...your liver and kidneys are already being put through enough stress

Also, alcohol fucks with your blood sugar as well, STAY AWAY from it while taking insulin

BTW, most light beers DO have around 100 cals.....I usually drink Sharp's or O'doul's if I have to have something while I'm out....I like crisp, hoppy beers so they tend to satisfy my cravings somewhat (even though neither is really hoppy at all, Sharps is good though)

The rest of the calories come from the alcohol. There is 7 calories per gram of alcohol. Coors light contains 85 calories just from alcohol plus 20 from carbs. I also think that beer has a high GI. If you feel pressured to drink around your friends tell them that your liver enzymes are high and that your doctor recommended that you don't drink. Hope this helps.

the cause of the "beer belly is the lack of B12 ...1 ounce of alcohol takes all the b12 outof the body for up to 12 hours...1 night of drinking could effect your b12 levels for up to 20 days if supplementation is done oraly ......

I don't feel pressured. I just like to have a good time like the rest of us. I'm now becoming more serious about my training and want and I'm trying to calculate how much of a life change I'll have to make to achieve my goals. Looks like I'm going to have to make a pretty big one if I want to be around 10% I wish I was a Meso.

Seriously I've been around for a while observing and I'm very happy with the helpful responses I've been getting from you all. Thanks again this is has always been a good place, I'm just glad I started posting here.

or you could tell them

That you have a allegic reaction...You break out in handcuffs :) Also on a serious note it is a "fast carb" Lots of needless calories if you drink to much. If you want 1 or 2 every know and then its kool. BUT, if you are "ON" like bigshug steer clear. Just my 2 cents.
