What can you do for those?? I dont have actual crater holes, but just some light red marks here and there where they were. Anything besides cocoa butter, and vit E....... anyone ever try retin-A?

I used retin-a years ago. Not sure if it really helped or not. Sounds to me that your skin is still healing. Keep using whatever you are using to control the acne.

I don't think you'll find much in the way of medicine that will help once the scars have finished healing. I've tried vit E, Mederma, and several others, and none did anything more than waste my money as far as I could tell. My scars have been from surgeries or injuries, not acne, though. I agree with saudades that it sounds like the scars are still healing since they're still red. That's good news because it means they'll continue to get better on their own. I would recommend Neosporin or Bacitracin to help and speed along the natural healing process. If topical antibiotics like these are applied while scars are still healing, they often have a significant positive effect on final scar appearance. Once the scars are no longer red, it might help a bit to get some sun (no burns, just a little). If the redness is your main problem, I wouldn't worry to much; that should go away eventually without any help.

i heard retin-A speeds up the skins ability to regenerate a lot faster. I just ordered some, so we'll see

Vitamin E is supposed to help with scars. I could be wrong, but I don't think a topical treatment, such as Retin-A, would be any good at this point... I'm pretty sure those types of meds are only useful when you're trying to clear up inflamed acne.

As a skincare student, I'd say that your best bet would be to go to a medical spa or plastic surgeon's office... there, an esthetician or medical professional can perform a medical-grade chemical peel or microdermabrasion or laser treatment of some kind (depending on the severity). That's probably the only way you will get the scars to appear less noticable.

It may require several treatments and it could be pricey, but you get what you pay for, so it might be worth it!

Good luck!
