ive tried it, but cannot get over the gritty taste.... but its was pretty good nun the less

laterly ive been looking at other mass gainers that have different sources of carbs.

anything with wheat, or oat flour i find to be better... up your mass by MHP being one of them, only problem is its kinda of expensive !! ive found a good deal on Massnutrition.com

i dont know how you guys drink those shakes. i cant find one I can stand for more than a few days.

i have to stick with real whole food, its the only thing I can continually eat without getting sick of it.

I haven't used that one, but I did use ON Serious Mass for a while, and I have to agree with dreww.

I don't think I will use a weight gainer shake again. Besides putting on more fat than I wanted, I always felt bloated, full and fat which I didn't like. Right now I'm eating whole food in every meal with protein shakes added in to a couple and I like it much better. I think food is the way to go.

Ok freak, let me tell you right now your not eating nearly enough even to support your weight right now. Im a little guy 142-148lbs and I eat twice as much as you do. Up your food intake don't settle, ditch your meal replacements and get whole foods in there your gonna benifit from real food more then powdered egg whites and sugar.

I used to use protein shakes , I mean post workout window its good to get some quick protein and carbs , but for the cost. Ive learned that whole foods , are the way to go. I mean it will add variety to your diet , also cheaper and more nutritious as a whole.

Just figure out what natural foods are good post workout and try to eat those afterwards.

I currently still have some protein that im waiting to run out. So I will start using it. I have to admit tho , shakes are a good way to pack size on in a short time frame though. You can down WAY more calories from a shake in one sitting than you can with food in one sitting. BUT food is the way to go. Just build the toughness and get the dedication to where you make yourself eat to make up for the difference.

I have to disagree with the PWO part. A good whey protein is much better than whole foods. Think of protein like legos. A whey protein is already broken down into individual lego blocks so your body can put them together to build what it needs. The protein in whole foods is like a lego fire truck. Your body has to tear apart the truck, before it can use the legos to build what it needs.

Whole food definitely has its place, and is great for many reasons, but a good whey protein shake is an excellent way to get in the protein you need for growth. Just my 2cc.

I should have said this in the last post, but I can start say no xplode and I will gain 5 pounds every single time in two days. I feel fuller and harder but it is surely water. Im sure the prop is most of the weight though.

for quick absorbtion yes , but cost wise. I think its better to get normal food than protein shake for the effect that you can get from them. yah you can down a protein shake get the protein in immediately , spend alot out of your budget all year around to get that protein , or you could just eat protein foods and maybe find the quickest protein source food you can find.

and for the cost and other facts outweigh protein shakes vs whole foods.

I agree.

if you can afford it im with Crg914 too , but if your barely making endsmeat or pretty close to equalizing , protein shake would be a cut I would make. and replace with normal food.

Again I have to respectfully disagree. I just bought 25lbs of whey protein from trueprotein.com for $100. Each serving is 23g protein and there are 15 servings per pound for a total of 375 servings. (15*25=375). That is a total of 8,625 grams of protein. (375*23=8625). Divide the $100 I spent by 8625 grams of protein and it's only $.0116 per gram of protein.

If an 8oz piece of chicken has 50g of protein and costs $1, then the $1 divided by the 50g of protein is $.02 per gram of protein. That's twice as much as the whey powder. And I think we can both agree $1 for an 8oz piece of chicken is cheap. You would have to be buying 8oz chicken breasts for 50 cents for it to be equal.

It may seem like it's expensive to buy protein powder, but in the long run it is actually cheaper. :)
