Processed starches and sugar

I am on a tear to get rid of highly refined food in my diet. I have been doing very well with this. The one thing I have noticed is that now when I do eat them I almost get a sugar rush. Very odd. I think eating lower glycemic carbs has helped my energy level stay stable as well. I am just wondering if now I am finally just sensitive to the effects or if I was just so loaded up on this crap that I didn't notice or was almost immune to it. I really believe we become addicted.

We definitely become addicted. Since you're kicking the soda now have you gotten any caffeine headaches? I quit drinking caffeine once a few years back and got terrible headaches. It's crazy but things like this go unnoticed until you don't have them

In the documentary Super Size Me, one of the doctors talks about the effects sugar has on the brain and how fast food/processed food really is addictive. Kudos to you JT, for cleaning up your diet. My wife and I have been shopping at Whole Foods a lot lately. I don't know if there is one where you live but they only carry organic, grass fed, natural foods. Grass fed beef and butter. They have bison and ostrich, lots of organic fruits and veggies. And all the other stuff they carry is natural, unprocessed, etc. I can actually tell a difference in how I feel from eating better foods.
