When I graduated college I figured it would be easy to find a job since I had a degree and my grades weren't horrible. Well I'm still personal training (going on 2 years) which has its perks but I need something more stable. What does everyone do? Do you like it? Know any fields that are easier to get into than others? I understand the job market sucks right now in most areas but I didn't think it would be this hard.

The job market does suck. Luckily Im fortunate enough to work for a company where the swings of the economy don't effect the company much. My company has ventures in alot of area - oil/gas, retail, real estate, just to name a few. So when ones failing, another is booming.

pretty smart business plan IMHO.

i am with the 663 heavy laboers union out of kc mo, i build mostly bridges these days. heavy construction. yeah i like it pays good and where else will they let you try to fall off a bridge.

By day I am a crash test dummy and by night a male stripper...

Counselor, motivational speaking, and also in school again at 34 working on my masters. The speaking is my main source of income though.

school wanst my thing... and i didnt go onto college after HS. Im in the process of starting my own Pool and spa service company. "hence the screenname" lol

i love it..i bust my balls alllll summer winters suck, no work.. but i get as much time to workout so thats a plus. Once i start to do very well ill be doin fishing trips to florida in the winters.. well thats my dream anyway :) fish oN!!

Yeah I figured I'll keep doing this until something I like pops up or till an offer i can't refuse pops up. I really do enjoy training people so it isn't bad, the hours are horrible tho.

Want big income? Go with commisioned sales....look at the want ads in monster or hotjobs and type in "SALES"......Sales gives you the opportunity to create your own success. I started in my early 20's selling windows, siding, etc..........learned alot from the training.

The greatest skill you can develop is the skill of influencing others. With that skill you can write your own paychecks. No college needed. Just a clean cut look for the most part and the ability to speak.

Made 6 figures my second year......Only working 4-6 hours a day.
Then I sold financial services........Broker/dealer for the NASD(AQ)

Hell I know a single mother of two who sells finnacial services and can do this around her kids schedule.

Now in my 30's I man whore.

In my early twenties I probably did just about every job you can think of, I did like personal training, but the money just isn't there unless you own your own business. The big corporate gyms take most of the money you make. I trained for Bally and 24Hr Fitness. Just got tired of being more of a sales person than a trainer. Anyway, right now I'm a personal banker. Been here a little over three years now, and it's tolerable. I got tired of manual labor jobs too, they just wear you down. I like a desk job with set hours. I'm still in school though, working towards my bachelors degree in elementary education. Mostly I just want my summers off:thumbsup:. I want to graduate and move the hell out of Missouri to some place where it's always warm. Tired of this cold shit.

I put my main source of income was speaking but its actually my sugarmama wife. LOL. Shes a hospital director. She's so lucky. In all honesty though I would love to do motivational speaking full time. I have made 400 bucks for 30 minutes on several occasions and never make less than 150 for 30 minutes. I was going to try to do some contract speaking for monster.com this summer. Fingers crossed.

I'm a USAF Aircraft Mechanic. The job is decent with damn good pay compared to the actual amount of work I put in everyday. I planned on getting out at my 8 year mark, but recently decided to make a career out of it.
