Im gonna start getting up at 430 and hitting the gym after i eat and stuff. What is your first meal before the gym do you have like oatmeal or something that is absorbed faster? Im thinking about 3 packs of oat meal and 8 ounces of fish or chicken and some almonds for my pre meal. thats over 120 g's of carbs and over 50 to 60 grams of protein. Should i go rice cakes or something instead so i can use the fuel faster or do you think oatmeal would be good. I just cant workout at 6 or 7 anymore the fucking gym i go to which i love, is like a nightclub there is littereally so many people in there it makes me actually not wanna work out and rush out of there its rediculous. This might be my only hope. On the weekends starting next week ill be going during the day so it will be mornings on wed thurs and friday then day time sat and sun.
 
If you work out that early I wouldn't worry about eating all that, I would just mix up a good protein/carb blend shake and you'll be good and you can get a few xtra zzzzzzz's!! A good whey protein like Dymatize Whey and a good carb like Cytomax. Like the Nsupps Performance Stack



I know you buy your protein in large quantities so you could just use that and add something like CytoMax to it or DGC to give you the carbs and energy for an early morning workout.
 
I'll do my Jack3d on an empty stomach, a bagel with turkey, and a shake with 40g of protein.
 
Holy crap man, 0430?! I don't think I could get a good workout in if I got up that early. I'd be way too tired. On the food thing, I think N(shape) has a good idea. A shake with good protein and carbs sounds like a better option to me. That's probably what I would do. I don't have much of an appetite early in the morning so something easy to get down would be great if it were me.
 
A shake and oats mixed togehter would be good...maybe in some juice (orange)

Thanks guys, yeah i dont have a problem getting up early really. My gym is about 30 minutes away so thats part of the reason i have to get up that early. This will only be 3 days a week so not bad. I get up at 5 everyday anyways for cardio and everything so this wont be bad at all. I can eat fine in the mornings i just eat slower then i do in the afternoons etc. Still debating on what im gonna do for the meal lots of good ideas in here.

I workout at 630am, not as early as you but I usually just do a whey shake with bcaa 5000, glass of orange juice. Then bring a water bottle filled with propel or crystal light fitness mix and bcaa 5000. Sometimes though depending If I am hungry at the time I will do oatmeal and or fiber cereal.
 
Thanks pumping. I hit the gym at about 530ish this morning i left at about 5. At 430 i ate 2 packs of oatmeal and a whey shake bout 55grams of protein, with some olive oil. Then sipped bcaa's through my workout and pounded a post workout shake. Now im bout to eat again on my break. Worked out pretty well i had alot of energy this morning. Got about 6 hours of sleep which is usually enough for me to feel good the next day. The gym was dead and i loved it. Thanks for all the tips guys.
 
If I end up coaching football this year I may have to resort to an early AM workout as well, not sure if I'm excited about it or not.....as long as I could get to bed at a decent hour it wouldn't be a prob but unfortunately that doesn't happen too often. How much sleep you gettin with your early AM workout?
 
on work out days oatmeal with blueberries and cinamon and a protien shake maby some whole wheat toast. cardio only days just a protien shake
 
If I end up coaching football this year I may have to resort to an early AM workout as well, not sure if I'm excited about it or not.....as long as I could get to bed at a decent hour it wouldn't be a prob but unfortunately that doesn't happen too often. Me personally I usually am in bed by 1030 11 so 7 1/2 to 8hrs usually.. 7 is probably the average.

I used to be like that, but lately I've been only getting 4-5. Hopefully starting this weekend, I can turn that around and get back on my schedule. My workouts are suffering from it.

In the morning, when I used to go before work, I'd eat a 100 calorie pack of hostess blueberry muffins, washed down with Jack3d. The muffins would just keep my stomach from getting jacked up and making me feel sick.

There is no way I could survive on 4-5 hrs, just won't happen.. I feel miserable if I don't get at least 6.. and I know it's hard to catch up.. You just need to take a few days off from everything and get your sleep pattern back on track and then you will be fine.. but damn brotha 4-5 hours :dizzy: lol

Tonight didnt workout good im not going in the morning too late to get enough sleep plus im leaving town. I try to be asleep by 10pm and im up at 430 so 6.5 hours or so give or take. 6 is about the right amount for me actually. 8 is awesome but im a little sluggish later on 6 im up wide awake and ready to roll. Pluse have enough energy during the day.
