Opinions on drink meals...

I have always tossed this one back in forth in my head and thought I would get some other opinions...

I try to stay away from drink meals and stick to whole foods when possible. I think shakes have their place indeed, but just not for a majority of my meals.

So... I drink very few protein only shakes (maybe just at bedtime or if I need a snack every once in a while)... However, I do frequent, in addition to whole foods, blender meals where I blend whole foods and add protein powder... For example: Bananas, Berries, Peanut Butter, Honey, Oatmeal, Whey, etc etc....

So the fact that I am blending whole foods and making my own concoction.. DOES THIS COUNT AS A "SHAKE" if I am blending foods? Indeed this is far better than just a scoop of whey or weightgainer in water which is a barebones traditional shake.

So if whole foods are blended would you still classify it in the same league as a shake or could you get away with consuming more of this type of drink each day without the adverse effects of too many "drink meals" and not enough whole food. Hopefully this makes sense.

Says the guy who is 300lbs shredded on 3 protein shakes and a bag of chips daily.
Personally and I don't know why this is, I have to eat whole food particularly red meat. It makes sense that "blended" foods would be easier to digest this more biologically available, but for me it's all about lbs of red meat and rice and pasta and the like. I only do shakes with insulin.
 
Not to come off like a smart ass, but this is like asking if mashed potatoes are still considered potatoes. Ok, yea, that's a total smart ass thing to say lol
