I had some young kid ask me for a spot on bench today. First of all his form was complete crap...only going down about 1/2 to maybe 3/4 down. The only reason I even noticed was because I was waiting on rack to do bent over rows. He "works" his way up to 225 before he asks me to spot. I have headphones in so I dont even speak just shake my head. So I give him a lift off and proceeds to go about 1/2 way down and then tries to push it up. I know he has no chance of gettin it so my hands are right there. He has nothing....I mean nothing left, so I'm basically doing an upright row just to keep it from crushing this kids chest. I take my headphones and ask if he is done. He says he is and asks me if I want him to strip the weight off. I tell him to leave it, that's what I will start with. I usually don't even bother to help or give advice to anyone unless they ask me for it first, but I had to tell this kid to lighten up the weight and learn how to do things correct if wants to ever really get anything from being in there. He just looked at me like "OK whatever".....then I see him sitting there staring at me doing bent overs. I'm no expert, but I know a thing or two about a thing or two, but it's hard for me to even bother with people like this.
