I went to the grocery store just now, its like a good 12 minutes from the scene..and it is empty..My town is a ghost town in mourning. There might have been 5 people in the store...One was a blonde hair blue eyed girl with her mom, about 5-6 years old...She was bagging the groceries and laughing and every single person in the store and workers stopped and watched this child...
Everyone literally paused and smiled and watched her leave...a few of the women's smiles turned into cries...Just her innocence appreciated and to know that was taken from 20 children...we all were on the same line of thought at that moment.
people are very very nice to each other around here all day today, the way it should be...
People are appreciative of what they have today I hope it is not forgotten.
I went to my daughters room and just looked at her toys, dolls, clothes and thought how lucky I am..Several families a few miles away will never be able to experience their child in their rooms, for Christmas, never see them again.
It kills me to think of as a parent. Literally unbearable. I would just die. I have never been so upset over something that didn't directly happen to me...Partially because it was so close and relative to myself, but mainly because I love children and would take a bullet for any one of them...and to know they were helplessly murdered simply is engulfing and angering.
This event will change my daughters and my life forever. I don't feel safe for her at school...Not sure what to even do.
Damn man. I can't even imagine how horrific that would be for you. I don't have children, but my heart sank when I turned on the TV this morning.
Honestly bro I wish there was anything at all that could be done better to protect children, but I don't see it. It's like Police walking into an ambush. Action is always faster than reaction. There simply is no way to prevent something like this... It's just so horrific and unexplainable.
My beliefs are pretty well known. I just don't see things getting better... only worse
