Acne Meds

My buddy is doing 1gm test per week and is qround 40 years old. He is getting (periodically) those huge zits which can be shitty to deal with. What have you guys used when they appear.
1. I found Visine works great to reduce the redness and swelling
2. Salicylic acid (Clean & Clear) works great to dry it out
3. Cover-up makeup.
** Im looking for suggestions on how to prevent and better ways to treat once they appear.

I have never experienced any serious acne problems so I can't give any firsthand pointers, but the only thing I know a lot of people do is hit a tanning bed to help dry them out. But like I said, I don't know firsthand so this is only something I've read

maybe pro active... My buddy (years back) took his grandmas Rosacea meds and that cleared all his acne (she gave it to him for that reason)

Never thought that'd work, but my sis has that so her meds might work if I ever have that problem
