Im sure a few of you can sympathize with my new situation life has sprung on me. A few weeks ago I started a new job in the Insurance world. I leave the house at 645am and do not clock out until 5pm. I still do Personal Training part time and my first client is 6pm-7pm and then a 7pm-8pm. From there I go straight to the gym. I've been doubling up on my pre workout and I am still dragging ass and just unmotivated because Im so damn tired.

Good news is I can eat at my desk anytime I want so getting my meals in isn't hard. Im still maintaining ABOUT 250g protein a day.

Any advice for those with long days how to keep that gymflow strong after a 14 hour work day?

That's tough bro with a 14 hour day. I guess it just takes time to get use to wish I had a better answer brutha

I can recall a time when I was a school teacher and football coach. My day started at 7AM and I would get out of practice about 7PM. So I had a solid 12 hour day every day of the week. But I guess I just made up in my mind that I would get to the gym and get in my workouts no matter what. No excuses and definitely no explanations. Wasn't even really taking a preworkout at that time. That was just earlier this year when I was in my offseason to grow for my upcoming show. I guess when you do compete it gives a little something extra to strive for. But either way just fight it mentally. This is just as much about training your mind as it is your body. Good luck!

had a crazy schedual for years. Up at 5 for work (construction) after work pick up and drop off daughters then
coach my youngest ones teams (vollyball and basketball) until 7. Tuesdays and Thursdays I would then train
martial arts 7:30 to 9:30 and other days head to gym after. Eating dinner around 10, watch tv for a little then
go to sleep. Up at 5 again... Did this for many years. At the end of the week I was dragging ass. You should get
used to the schedual after a while. Just keep thinking "how bad do I want it". You should also be physicaly
ready for a hard workout. Its the mental fatigue you have to shake. Sneak a nap in during the day somehow?? lol
Keep is posted on how you adapt. One more thing. Look at the good part. This is a luxury problem. You
are working too many hours. That is a lucky problem to have in this economy. When you think about it like that,
it is a GOOD problem to have.

Life does get challenging, My advice is keep in simple. Also if you can not make it then simply do chins and dips. If you did chins and dips to just stay strong when time does allow you can return in good shape. Sometimes you just can not go to the gym, it's that simple.

thanks for the comments guys.. I will just keep on truckin the way I have been doing and hopefully as time goes on it will get easier. Im more drained (mentally) working in front of a computer for 9 hours a day than I was drained (physically) working for a union for 15 years! Its only 3 weeks. Hope it gets easier.

I know it'll suck, but you may benefit from going to the gym before work. Around Christmas I was working 13 hour days and I was dead afterwards so I started going before work and it actually made my whole day better. Yes, I was tired getting up early, but once I got used to it, it was great. I was wide awake by the time I got to work, I felt great the first few hours (that high you get after training) and knowing I could go straight home and go to bed after work felt great too

I did this for a couple years too. Waking up was terrible, but you feel like a million bucks after and your have 14 hours to load up on quality nutrition. Personally my plan would be to train on the weekends and then once during the work week. 3 days a week is more than enough for me

Ive thought about the idea of training before work. Problem is I would have to shower at the gym, and I dont know about you guys but after I shower I sweat for about an hour after a shower. I would literally go to work with black pit stains under my arms, and theres only so many black dress shirts I can wear in a row lol. I've used every anti perspirant, even some prescription ones for my excessive sweating.
