I have always had anxiety and just wondering what some of you do or take when the anxiety comes on? I'm trying to not take xanax every time it comes on...
Sometimes I'll get heart palpitations for a second. Used to freak me out until I read that's not uncommon at all when anxiety is in play...

I feel like EQ does it for me. but I have only 1 week left of that. Then it's on to sust 250 for a few weeks... :D

I used to get anxiety really bad. Xanax can really become a crutch and you'll find that the anxiety will get worse if you continue taking it making so you have to take it. Try to find other ways to relax. I.E. music, breathing exercises, go on a drive, or do something you enjoy. If you still feel terribly anxious than try the xanax. Usually you can pinpoint things that are causing your anxiety. The hard part is trying to avoid running into these things. I took Xanax, Klonopin, and Valium for 2 years straight until I learned the proper (and a much better & healthier) way to deal with stress and anxiety.

i have/had terrible anxiety. deep breaths are a good start when you feel panicked. a little safer than prescription meds is 5 htp. obviously not as strong. this is something you supplement daily. but i know how you feel. try to use the xanax sparingly. like when your at home and you want to totally relax.

I hate xanax. I take klonopin weekly though(longer acting). Also on Zoloft.

I am on the lowest dose of effexor now. I have been slowly weining off of it for about 4 months. Two things really help me cardio and doing something I have to focus with such as reading. The deep breathing in a dark room helps too. I have had really bad panic attacks and been to the er a couple times. My bp is good now, but it use to be somewhat elevated and the flushing in my face would cause me to get panic attacks. I also use to play a video game that required a lot of thinking. If you can get your mind off of it that will help. Soothing music may help but some music actually made mine worse. Long drives alone were the hardest thing for me.

30mg of Valium and 20mg of Celexa a day. I don't care about taking meds. I'm going to enjoy my life and be productive and do what I want to do.

Bro I get such bad anxiety its hard for me to take deep breaths, hard for me to sleep cuase my mind is racing so bad! Hell just today I felt like i could break down and cry, lol, hows that for a panick attack, the funny thing is I dont even know why! I mean life is good! I am healthy for the most part, decent home, decent jobs for me and my wife, but yet i still feel all out of fucking whack sometimes,

I have anxiety issue's now. They started when I started taking insulin last year. I am perscribed Prozac now and it keeps it a bay. If I go out I take 2 pills right before and it helps alot. Also Prozac it not addictive like other meds.

I refuse to start any anti-depressants, i think its natural to have anxiety time to time, not knocking u guys that take stuff but i watched my dad come home from work and sleep all day and night until work the next day on that kind of shit, and told myself no matter how bad things get i will never try anti-depressants, been real close though, and even had doctor write me a script for something before but never got script filled, im afraid to tunr into a zombie

been on lexapro for quite a while now 10mg's a day and it works great. Anytime i feel an attack coming on i can just basically make it go away by deep breaths and relaxing. Cold washcloth on the face helps too.

I got off lexapro cuz i could never nut. and if I could i'd be dripping sweat.

humm really? hasnt effected my drive or longevity at all. Im thinking about getting off of it slowly but surely, it doesnt bother me or do anything negative for me that i can tell right off hand. I would just rather not be on anything

I get a script for klonopin. My doc said your suppose to use anxiety meds to train your body for response meaning you only take the stuff when you feel the anxiety coming on......I used to get a pumping heart, sweaty and overwhelmed by anxiety....Some people have it so bad they cant function when it comes on. My sister has to pull the car over if she gets anxiety while driving.

My doc put me on paxil for my anxiety attacks. Took it a couple times and lost all motivation to do anything. I said fuck this shit and stopped taking it. Best remedy I have found is to take out all my frustrations and worries at the gym. Believe me it works!!!

Paxil and effexor are the two worst as far as coming off. I read they are more addictive to your body than heroin. Presser do you feel like doing cardio helps you. For me I have way less anxiety issues when I ramp my cardio up.

I was the same way for the same reasons for 10 years. Been on Valium and low dose Celexa for a couple years now and I wish I would've done this 10 years ago. Anti-depressants have come a long way. Besides... what function does anxiety serve? Fuck that, I'm a happier, calmer, and more successful person now.

I use to get adivan for that...but that was a few years ago when my life was a mess
