You really need to be honest with yourself to make any progress. The minds eye does not see reality. This is why Pictures are so important to take regularly. You know most people dont see themselves as fat when they really are. Look around in the gym. How many people actually look good. Not many, huh. Look at the guys wearing the muscle shirts that should be wearing long sleeve shirts. They think they are all that but they are not. Be one of those guys in the gym that looks good. You can, but it starts with being honest with yourself.

i look at myself in the mirror and see a tall lanky , skinny mofo ... maybe i am maybe im not..! who knows.
my wife thinks im big but i think shes just trying to keep me happy.

Ya bro. I see myself as overweight and lacking definition. My wife says im lookin great. Hopefully i just fall somewhere in between

It's really all a matter of perspective. When I'm out day to day, I know I look better than anyone around me. When I'm at the gym, I feel about average...bigger than some, and smaller than some. On this site, I consider myself one of the smallest. So, it really depends on what you use as your measuring stick.

I always think I look average so I'm always motivated to improve myself.

I think the biggest problem with bodybuilders is that they watch a video of Kai, Jay, or Phil and then look at themselves in the mirror. That doesn't make any damn sense. Compare yourself to yourself! Take pictures every 3 months and see where you've grown.

this is a good thread, i dont think hardly any body i know takes this seriously. poeple every where lack humility. all it takes is one person to tell them they look good, and all be damned if it doesnt make them mr olympia.

i never ask any body how i look except for the ol body builders that have been competing for years to give me an honest answer on what and where i need to improve on. i personally think im fat, but i KNOW every dude in the gym i train at is fat as hell. and they all think there carved out of stone.
