BENCH PRESS MAX

Haven't maxed since High School, but at the gym I finish off bench at 255lbs for four reps...  Working towards my goal of 500lbs!

Rampage...having a good bench has always been some unwritten "manly" thing. I have NEVER had a good bench..probably never will. I am one of those poor saps who just has a shitty bench. When i was younger I used to see all those guys repping 405 or higher and think they were God. Now most of them don't even workout because of shoulder/chest/elbow...etc injury. I honestly believe that good form, diet, rest and knowlegde will out do ANY benchpress. :D
  This is pretty much my lame excuse for not having a good bench :D
 
Well I just started doing flat bench again a  week ago.  Somehow I messed up my shoulder about a year ago and for some reason the only exercise that really bothers it is flat bench.  Anyway I can do 150lb dumbells on incline bench.

I can only do 245lbs at 5'10 170lbs....nothing to really brag about. What makes me laugh and pisses me off is this guy at my gym who does 385lbs. The bar comes off the rack, and as soon as he starts to lower it he ass is about 7 inches of the bench!!! Then he gets up and looks around to see if anyone was watching. Like he is He-Man or something. I would be more impressed if he could only do double plate in clean form.
 
I did 335 for 8 reps back in january  (No supplements) but then had an injury......  I just did 315 for 7 reps last week... I would guess my max at this moment around 375-380

currently 187 and benched 345. also 20 years old. I can bench but i cant squat worth a shit. I use to power lift for my GNC in my local town. dead lift about 450.

Heh. Bench is definitely the exercise everyone always asks about. :) That's also the exercise people always train (and often only that) Too bad my bench is shitty, and always will be. I'm one of those guys with long arms. hehe.

For instance at my gym there are plenty of guys benching 400+, but I am the squat king, with only 310x6, and deadlift king, with only 375x4. For the record, my bench is only 220x3. All without cheating, of course: no belt, no knee straps, no wrist straps, no bullshit.

Do you believe these guys, they bench way more than they squat. I kid you not! And they are everywhere. If you see a guy with wheels matching the upper body, it's almost like seeing Elvis alive.
 
I'm going to have to agree with ancalagon, no one notices when I bench 300 but when you're squatting 500+(which from what I understand is proportionate) everyone just stares at my gym.
