Just another example of how twisted our society is. We've allowed the holidays to be twisted and distorted by greed and materialistic shit. I've never wanted anyone to buy me shit. I want quality time with my family and friends and look back over the year and celebrate another one passing. Sad

I agree with this 100%...I hate the holidays because of the gift giving and senselessness of everything. I don't need anyone to buy me anything. If I want something I'll save my money and buy it for myself. I would rather just spend time with family/friends, have a nice meal with them, and celebrate. Especially now I feel like we all buy stuff just to buy stuff for someone even if the person you're buying for doesn't need it. Like we need to fill the status quo or something. I'm contemplating just giving everyone (except the kids) cash for Christmas.

I almost went to Walmart Thanksgiving night to get the new Batman game for $28. But, then I realized it'll be $40 in the next few weeks and it was just not worth the hassle to save $12.

I used to go with my sister shopping on Black Friday, but that was mainly because she lived in Florida and was only in town for a short period of time so it was more about spending time with her while she did all the shopping for her 5 kids, but now I work every Black Friday so I'm fine with it

I did hear about that then around here some woman got her nose broken over a toaster oven. It's just bullshit, why don't you hear about 2 guys beating the hell out of each other over some Craftsman tools or something?
