Anyone have experience with obtaining Grants for College?
Any good websites?
How would I start the process and do I need to already be enrolled?
Thanks fellas
I wont be able to get Pell
and do not want loans

college scholarships.org collegegrant.net are two sites, one my wife used for her double masters the other is very informative with proceeding on how to obtain and were to look . there is alot out there and the places to find them are odd at best , get ready to write out your life story and more its very time consuming but pays off in the end , what are you thinking for a major, im 36 and still working on my doc. , best of luck

Well I am already a Radiologic Technologist (AS Degree) have my EMT Cert and Basic Dysrythmia Cert, I am now wanting to go thru with the RN program, due to I never want to be out of work for a year again (5 or 6 months was unavoidable due to tricep tendon tear/surgery) Do you have to already be enrolled or can you apply for grants before that? Thanks man

i would check with your current employer to see if they are offering rn classes because most hospitals have a program (mainly online) in place usually for lpn to go rn but may have a work program suited for you.these programs are usually free to you. only down side is your are required to work there for a set amount of time after graduation . there is alot of grant options for people interested in nursing at the state and gov. level so make sure you look into those programs some have a loan forgiveness . to answer your question no you dont have to be enrolled . most grants are intension based.

k cool thanks, no loans just out of pocket and if I can get grants. My hospital does reimbursement, however im per diem so as per usual I get to pay for everything bc I work, and my taxes dont help me at all but I do get to pay for other ppl who dont work with kids to go to college, its awesome how that works out.

i'm in the RT program too metal85.....i may end up doing a second program of phys therapy asst or physicians assistant though too......my gen eds are done this semester and then i'm several semesters down the petition list for my core/clinicals to start (original wait list is 1-2 years but since the clinical program classes run summer/fall/spring/summer/fall/spring/summer semesters i was able to move up the list quicker)
