Turns out it is "tennis elbow", outer elbow tendonitis. I have a wrist immobilizer (mostly immobilizes it) and a pressure band for the place where the tendons attach to the elbow. They both help, I have greatly reduces my aspirin use.

My trainer has put me on a rest week since I am broken. Why does getting older also involve getting more frail?

My HGH arrived - YAY!!! Eye candy below. I am pinning 2 IU a day for health and wellness and it should get me back in shape quickly.

Now that he is here on the site, I can say my personal trainer / nutrionist is 3J from 3J's Fitness. He has coached me along my path and kicked my ass as needed - which has been on more than one occasion.

Right now I am not working out, giving my elbow time to heal, but then back to the grindstone we go!!

Have you tried supplementing with fish oil and turmeric? They seem to help with my golfer's elbow...

I have not, but I am open to anything! I will try it.

12-27-15

This week sucked, diet wise. Christmas cookies were made by my wife and sister, both excellent bakers. Cookies are one of my major weaknesses and I succumbed quickly and fully. The good news is that I have already eaten all the Christmas cookies so they are no longer a threat to my diet. The bad news is they have already left their mark on my body. My weight, stomach, and waist all shot up this week. I tell myself it is Christmas and that makes it ok, but I know it really does not. It is what it is, no need to beat myself up over it, time to move forward.

My elbow hurts differently now. It now feels like the circulation has been cut off and restored - I am getting slight tingly feelings in my thumb and next three fingers (not the pinky, oddly enough) and down the forearm on the outer side. My fingers do not get cold, so circulation is good, they just get tingly and sometimes slightly numb. Using a mouse makes it bad quickly, so I am going to see if I can take a week or two off work at the start of the new year to allow it to rest. I do computer networking for a living, so the mouse and keyboard are used constantly. Luckily, I have little problem using the mouse left handed...years of helpdesk support taught me that. The elbow has a slight sharp pain on occasion...sometimes there is nothing and other times I want to lop it off. I am hopeful this is a sign of the HGH doing some healing since I have never run it before. I am thinking of having the doctor check it out again incase something strange has happened.

I did some test runs at the gym last week to see what I could and could not do. I did cardio using my arms - bad idea. I hate all the other cardio machines, but I can do the elliptical without using arms so it should be fine. I only did 2 days of cardio last week, but am going back to doing 4 days this week now that I know I can do it. I did back day but skipped the dead lifts and the bent over rows, had no problem with the pull downs or the seated rows. I did leg day minus the squats and it was fine as well. I did very light flat bench presses, 3 sets of only 50 pounds (I normally do 125 pounds for my set of 15) and it was slightly difficult, when I tried the 150 pounds, my right arm would not engage at all, so I know that was way too high. Rather than find my max weight it would engage at, I felt doing a scant 50 pounds was more prudent. I skipped arm day altogether.

So onto my sad and pathetic stats for this week:

*Weight: 193
*Neck: 16.75
*Chest: 40.5
*Stomach: 35.75
*Waist Line: 35.25
*Biceps: L: 12.75 R: 12.75
*Thighs: L: 24 R: 24
*Calves: L: 15 R: 15
*Forearms: L: 12 R: 12

I was told to stop all weight pushing until my arm heals and just do three sessions of thirty minute light cardio for now. Since 3J is the expert, I will bow to his judgement.

Also, he told me not to be so hard on myself - which is a much more difficult thing to do...

I have experience galore with golfer's elbow and tennis elbow also (more so with golfer's elbow but it's the same condition on the other side of the elbow). I'm not going to take the time to type out what finally worked for me, but I have done so several times on this forum, I have no doubt a search would turn it up.

Don't be too hard on yourself about some weight gain at this point. You have to remember that muscle weighs more than fat, and from looking through your log, I'd say you've started to gain a fair amount of muscle. You've been in cutting mode for so long, as soon as you had extra calories, that was probably why you gained so suddenly, especially if you are on the goods we saw earlier. Some time off will do you good. Need to take a week off now and then.

Glad to see you're still getting after it! Definitely look into the tumeric and fish oil. Also pay attention to the interaction of aspirin and tumeric as I believe they both thin the blood.

Anticoagulants and anti-platelet drugs such as warfarin and aspirin etc. interact with turmeric. Since these medications slow blood clotting and turmeric does the same, taking these medications with turmeric can cause bleeding and bruising.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. Yeah, taking it easy now and again, especially to heal, is the right and smart thing to do.

01-03-16 First update of the new year

My diet was pathetic this week - but like you have said, it is the holidays and it is to be expected. One should enjoy the holidays and worry about recovering from it afterwards, so that is what I am going to do. My stomach and waist both went up a half inch and my weight went up 5 pounds. I have my work cut out for me now, but I did enjoy the holidays. :)

My elbow is slowly feeling better, but my fingers feel tingly a lot now, like they have the blood flow restricted, but they are not colder or a color shade different like they would be if that was the case. I am wondering if it is the HGH doing it. 2IUs a day should not give me any such sides, though, right? If the main reduction keeps up at its current pace, I am thinking another 2 weeks and I will be pain free in my elbow.

I got two of the 30 minute cardio sessions in. I found I actually prefer the moderate 30 minutes vs the heavier 20 minutes...and the machine says I am burning more calories. I am taking GW50 and it really has improved my endurance by a noticeable amount.

Onto my current stats:

*Weight: 198
*Neck: 16.75
*Chest: 40.5
*Stomach: 36.25
*Waist Line: 35.75
*Biceps: L: 12.75 R: 12.75

I am going to give the credit to the GW50 I am taking, I am finding cardio enjoyable to do now. I did 20 minutes at about 125bpm, then 12 minutes at 140bpm, then 5 minutes at 130bpm and stopped...for a total of 32 minutes. Afterwards I actually felt energized instead of wiped out. My legs always feel like they have been worked afterwards, but the rest of me felt alive and full of life and energy. Very different than a scant 3 months ago, where I dreaded cardio and wanted to sleep forever afterwards.

Not doing and weight pushing, though I was thinking about doing legs on days I do not do cardio - but only the machines where my arms are not needed at all. EDIT: 3J said adding legs will be fine.

I get my blood work done for my urologist (TRT guy) this coming Thursday, then I can up my Test level and start taking some low dose Deca again. I am going to try to talk him into giving me 100mg per week instead of 75mg a week - I feel better on a slightly higher level. Even if he says no, I have plenty of Test and am going to do it anyway.

I see my regular doctor in 2.5 weeks, by then I will know if the flossing exercises worked or not and he will send me to a specialist. Stay tuned for updates on my trials and tribulations. The universe is really working hard to try and make me fail...but it does not know the power it faces in a combined Sage/3J power house!

Enough blabbering, onto my current stats. I dropped two pounds and a few measurements dropped slightly also. A good direction to be going in now.

Just noticed I forgot to add an update about my elbow! My doctor now thinks I have Median Nerve Entrapment. Some of my fingers have started getting numb, just like they would with carpal tunnel, but since the pain is in my elbow and not my wrist they think the entrapment is there. I am setting up an appointment for an ECM, which measures electrical impulses through the nerves to find where the pinching is going on so they can try to fix it. Most likely I will need elbow surgery.

ART has a certification for nerve entrapment; you can view ART providers in your area on the ART website and view each provider's certification, It is possible an ART provider might be able to get the nerve released. I have no stake in ART, I've gotten relief for various rhings from ART chitos over the years.

Respect Cybersage I see all the hard work and dedication u have you are a inspiration to all

I get my drive and inspiration from you, my brother! One day I hope to be as big as you are, and I am going to fight to get there!

I have an initial consult tomorrow afternoon with an ART provider. I hope I am one of the majority it helps.

For now, I am going to put the log on hold - I am doing leg day still and cardio for 40 minutes (built up to that) 3 times a week. I am losing some upper body muscle, as expected, but also losing fat - down another 2 pounds this week. So just keep assuming I am slowly losing fat at about 1 to 2 pounds a week until I pick the log back up.

Typing is painful, I am trying to do a bit less of it.
