Insulin never did much for me as far as muscle growth even at 10iu with breakfast and 10iu post workout. I just used it with a basic AAS cycle each time. Are you guys doing anything different?
I agree with Chris, 30 days should be enough to determine how effective it is for you.
 
Everything I've read advocates a 4, 6 week cycle max. I've started a slin cycle myself again this week. However, rather than PWO, I've been doing Pre and so far, so good. I suppose I'll be able to measure the gains--if any--by the end of next week.

P.S. The pre-slin protocol is advocated by milos, phil Hernon, and several other 'experts' and deserves serious research. I tried 10ius 10 minutes before my workout yesterday and felt freaking great. Excellent pumps, my strength was great, and no DOMS at all (I always get doms)--no more pwo for me.

How many grams of carbs? Humalog?? Did you drink carbs throughout your workout? Did you take any preworkout supps with it?

I followed this guys protocol (RX Muscle):
Food Freak:

eat a balanced meal (containing carbs) ~1 hour pre workout, then about 15 minutes pre-workout take 5-10iu HUMALOG, followed by half of a 50-100g (depending on insulin dose) dextrose + 25g BCAA + 1-g Glutamine + 5g Creatine shake. The rest of the shake is then diluted and sipped throughout the workout.

Because I do not advocate giant set training, the 15g carb per iu can be a bit excessive IMO. I recommend INTRAMUSCULAR injection of the insulin for faster onset and clearance. Generally the shake is completed by the end of the workout at which point I suggest 10mcg-20mcg INTRAMUSCULAR IGF-1 injection. (PWO is when these receptor sites are up-regulated). This is then followed by another balanced meal (containing carbs)- the fat intake does not need to be 'restricted' per-se in this meal because the insulin was not shot PWO and thus is not 'peaking' come time to eat, rather it ideally peaked during the workout (and shuttled the nutrients that were provided by the shake during this time.) Each athlete is different, some can get away with 10 carbs per iu, some may need more if they experience any hypo. People get all worried that having any fat circulating is going to cause insulin to shuttle the fat into fat cells. Fat slows the absorbtion of carbs thus releasing glucose into the bloodstream slower and causing/requiring less insulin release. Insulin will shuttle ANY EXCESS nutrients into storage. Part of the reason IMO that so many people get fat with slamming 100g of dextrose + 50g whey + 10iu insulin PWO is that 1-the blood is leaving the muscle and returning to the gut/systemic circulation. 2-thats a shit load of sugar to be absorbed at once, undoubtedly some will spill over especially since shooting PWO requires another high carb meal an hour later to 'cover' the fact that insulin is still active- at this point even LESS blood is flowing to the muscle. During a workout, more blood is in the muscle so nutrient storage will preferentially occur there. Also, excess glucose will likely be burned up during the training. This method is trickier because you have to watch for hypo and find the sweet spot for your INTRA workout carb intake . I factor these PRE/INTRA workout carbs into daily totals (thus leading to a majority of the athletes carb intake coming from pre workout meal, intra workout shake and post workout meal.

This method allows for a very anti-catabolic and likely anabolic environment during the training- where blood flow to muscle is optimal and nutrient storage can be maximized in the muscle.

What I did, and what I'm about to do here in a few hours, is a meal (today I'll eat oatmeal and a couple cream-filled donuts) wait an hour, make a shake with 70 grams of carbs via vitargo, thow in creatine and bcaas, shoot 10ius humalog, drink about half that on the way to the gym, fill it back up with water and sip it throughout the workout. Then, I have another shake with some whey post workout/on the way home. Then I eat a balanced meal about an hour later(rice, vegies, and protein source).

Since today is only my second time doing this, I don't expect to make any measurable progress untill this time next week.
 
IM not a huge fan of insulin...I did get up to 280 with it..but I was fat to...and held tons of water...(High BP to)...

Now on a clean diet, and using it post workout a few days a week..I think it could be good for holding on to muscle, and keep you fuller...
 
I still have never tryed insulin, i prolly would have by now if I could get Humalog as i am afraid to try humalin r. The protocal Nair posted seems like a great plan and I bet the pumps while working out are insane if not almost painful from using slin preworkout. Damn would love to try this

The only thing that sucks about pre workout insulin is that if you dont eat enough carbs pre workout, then you hit a wall half way threw the workout...but sipping on Gatorade or a carb drink would prevent this

Im still doing my insulin post workout. But ill try pre tomorrow. Plan is to carb up before workout.

I'm going to try this pre workout. I'm almost done with the IGF as its been 12 weeks so this will be fun. I need to place an order soon anyway for the second part of my cycle so I'll get a bottle of humalog as well. I've always used Humulin R so hopefully results this time are very different.
