I forgot to ask. What problems did you have before it tore? Mine is contently inflamed. Hurts to do most bicep training or just holding things for to long. I had a cortisone shot about 2 years ago and that worked great but it's back and I'm sick of it.
My surgery took place on Oct 24. It was a full tear & had retracted 2 inches. It was worse than he thought & retracted 3 inches so the thought is, it tore earlier & being held by fibers.
He had to staple me back that's how bad it was & could not extend my arm. In lots of pain. Cast is on & will see dr. 14 days.
I am doing nothing till next appt.
Just had tendons and ligaments hooked back up in my right elbow. I feel your pain bro
Update
1. Staples out. First cast of.
2. Second cast on. It will be off Dec 4.
Then rehab with surgeon next few months to a yr because:
A. Tightest tendon he has ever repaired in 35 years
So New territory for him.
Doesn't want to risk it rapturing. Will not trust any physical therapist.
B. He could not straiten my arm in surgery. First time ever he has ever seen that.
C. I may never be able to fully straiten arm.
D. On the positive he feels it is healing well.
Will keep updating...
Damn bro i almost missed this post! Sorry to hear about the tendon being so tight, but im sure it will losen up and youll be able to extend it fully! So your rehabbing with the surgeon and not a Physical therapist? Thas a plus if its the case, never heard of that but im sure he knows his shit more then any PT!
Also kind of reminds me of that Kid Movie, where the young kids arm had surgery i think, and it was wound so tight that he turned pro and pitched for some pro team lol, i never seen the movie but it kind of reminds of this story lol. Hope you can still wrestle the bald headed champ ok, lmao
Damn Bro. Go slow with it. I had a proximal tendon rupture years ago and my surgeon had to build me a new tendon. 6 years later and my arms are just under 21" cold.
