I think you did a good job. I thought you where just making benches/ racks. Thats actually not a bad idea for making your own plates. You must have made a mold out of wood or something. They look clean, nice job.

I want to coat them with something before I actually use them , so whenever I get around to it. Alot of stuff going on.

The bench etc wise..

Im going to use dumbells for now strictly , so I dont need a rack , so just having boards propped up safely.. for an incline will do fine for benching.

dips , I can replace for now with extensions , even though I hate to train isolation its better than not training at all.

But still have to work everything together before I can start with a real training program. Since I do need to pick up some spring collars along with make more weight.

One step at a time. I just want to make sure I think everything through before I act on things , etc.

But thanks for the good comments on the look of the weights. Hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks I will have them completely completed , plan on actually buying more concrete before anything. better to make all the weight im going to need for now before I start coating ones individually. Save time and easier on materials.

Updates soon , for now im more focusing on whether some packaging companies around here are hiring , and looking for work that I can actually do something with.

Then worry about maybe going back to school , Im still set to leave for marines october12th , but Thats more of a fall back , its not something I really want to do just if need be.

So ill see how things go as the time comes down to it.

Those weights remind me of the store-bought concrete set I had when I was a kid. That's pretty much how they used to make them except they were round. Good job, Chris.

I would of made them round , but had to work with what I had in order to keep the budget at $0 for the mold..

Figured the only way that I could of made round ones was if I used couple pieces of plywood cut out put ontop of a full sheet.

Couldnt do that , so had to go with octo.

AWSOME!. More people should have to do this, just to test there dedication. I worked out w/ just dunbells for a while, had no choice, and it's amazing the routines you can come up with and the progress you can make. Power to ya
