Finally back to some heavy squats...

After tearing my quad muscle back in 2007 and a shoulder injury from football last year, I am able to finally get back under some heavy squats. Had a good day today.

135 10 reps
225 10 reps
315 10 reps
405 10 reps
495 10 reps
585 5 reps :D
 
Nice work bruda - feels good to get back into it. Unfortunately, I'm a few months out still but I'll be there before long.
 
I tore my hamstring squating. I think its been 2 years and im still 100lbs below my max
 
Damn bro, i remember when you did that. It's still bothering you? Sounds like you should see a specialist and get that looked at brother.

I feel fine. I just stay away from anything that will retain water now. So all my lifts have been effected. When i was squatting 500+ i was on sus, deca, and d-bol.
 
man i havent been able to squat in ages due to my knee which i have two tares in among other problems but there is niothing like heavy squats! i been using hack squats latly, i think once u put in the time in your early years aquating u can maintain nicely using hacks!

IMO i think doing hack squats and V-squats are just as good as squats, because that was all i could do for a while and my legs grew. I also like the different foot postions you can use on them.

it depends realy on the size of the platform the hacksquat has, my gyms platform is tiny so i would say its NOT as good as doing squats but i have been on some hack squats where the platform was big and wide and i agree they were just as well as sqaust ...ALMOST,LMAO
 
nice squats bro, i wish my gym now had a hacksquat as im in the same problems as presser with knees etc. My older gym had an awesome hack squat platform was huge.
 
alot of people say hacks hurt your knees (but save you back). You dont experience this press?

I feel more pressure on my knees with hacks, but since my back is so tore up, I'd rather take the knee trauma since the knees got alot more life left in them

Ive noticed this on small platforms where you cant really get your legs our in front or a little higher. ON larger platforms its easier on my knees to me.
