Flat bench today

Well I try to get back into benching today. Haven't flat benched with a barbell for about 3-4 months. Been having shoulder pain for while. So I tried it today and hit 350 for 3. And no pain yet.
 
that's great im also going to try 350 x3 tomorrow. I got 365 max pretty easy last week and put on 3 more pounds the past week so I think I should be able to do it which reminds me I need to go ahead and take my fish oil
 
That's great brother, I had shoulder surgery and it took almost 5 years before I could bench with the bar. I kept using dumbells and built myself up and now I don't really feel any shoulder pain.
 
I got 355 x4 today so im beyond excited it really looks like I will be hitting the 400 club. im going to start another thread on that
 
Im just getting back to being able to do 315lb myself. I can get it a couple reps or so and feels good, but its always in the back of my head that im gonna fuk my shoulder up again. Before I messed my shoulder up I could get it for 10 or so reps and maxed 385lb but its not that important to me anymore as long as I can lift.
 
I no longer BB bench because of a shoulder injury I sustained years ago. Dumbbell's are all I use, along with cable movements for chest.
 
I used to flat bench as a bench mark so to speak of my strength. I've gotten 225 for 30 reps and hit 410. However since Feb of 2012 i've not been able to flat bench and I dont think I ever will again. Partially because it hurts and second I have out grown it. I see no need to flat bench at all especially as I age( I'm 36). I know I have much of all my strength I had prior to my shoulder injury because I can still it the 150 pound dumb bells on the incline for 10.
 
I have a torn rotator cuff in one arm and a partially torn tricep tendon in the other so flat sucks for me. For some reason incline still feels good though.
 
Incline doesnt hurt so bad. Decline, even on a Hammer Strength Machine and Dips feels like my humerus is going to come out the front of my shoulder.
