What do you guys prefer for back thickness partials or rackpulls or full deadlifts?

Personally i do deadlifts followed by T-Bar Row's, i havent ever tried rack pulls ... might give 'em a shot as my back is the one are that could do with some over all size.

both are good, and stick with alot of row movements for thickness.

im with nuk on this one

i do all my rowing movements (unless going insanely heavy) full range and extra extension
for a full strech for maxium growth

I am a big believer in full deadlifts. For back thickness, I like BW pullups, T Bar rows, and full deadlifts. On back day I also do either DB or BB rows and Shrugs. I think there is a large-muscle synergy when doing full deadlifts as the larger leg muscles are invo9lved.

Having said this, my opinion is just based on a gut feeling. I have absolutely no evidence other than anecdotal experience to back it up.

Rack pulls will hit your back a little more than full deadlifts primarily because you're taking your legs out of the equation at the beginning since you don't have to explode off the ground. Now with that said, rowing motions are going to give you more thickness, but rack pulls are definitely a great substitute for full deadlifts. I use to switch from deads to rack pulls from week to week. I was also powerlifting at the time so this obvious was to help my lockout, but it will certainly help your back strength
