How long does it take for your gym to clear out?

Every year I watch the gym fill up after New Year and every year I watch all but 3-4 people drop from existence in 6-8 weeks. It usually takes about 4 weeks for half to drop and the rest drop over the next few weeks.
In the past, I have found this very irritating, but this year I don't seem to mind so much becuse I know they'll be gone soon. In between sets, I find myself watching these folk go from one machine to another or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I will help if asked or think they're gonna hurt their fool selves, but I still find it entertaining.

Can anyone else here relate to this?? Or am I alone in this one??

i couldnt give you a number but i have noticed people already falling off the wagon at one of my gyms lol

i was thinking that i need to start resting more right after new years and not bother with the newbies. the other day i made the mistake of going right after work and there were close to a hundred people in the gym and i swear every machine and station were being used

oh and listen to this shit so im adding more weight on the smith machine and a little mother fucker was on the other side taking off the damn weight i just put on there

i just needed to vent that last one

I usually take the first week of the year off completely

My gym however did not experience the typical in flux of new members.
It is volley ball season however. Which means tons of underage volley ball girls training after practice.

We all know what June bugs are? THese are January bugs.....like thier Summer counterparts, just step on them, they make a discusting crunchy noise and then they stink for a while. Then they are gone until next yr!!

But as a gym owner, get em signed up!!

I go to the 3rd largest gym in the US at over 10,000 sq. ft. It was deserted last time I was in on Wednesday! These resolutioners are already dying off over here.

i was lucky this year a new cheap gym opened up. so clearly every one has gone there..the manager said more than 400 have gone from his gym alone...sweet means all the young gangsters have left and most of the january lot as well..

usually takes about 2 months here-the gym that I usually go to is becoming more of a health spa

slow but sure

they already fading at one gym and the other they are still hanging on but they will be gone in another few weeks (2) i bet.

Here in the frozen North, its -6 and next week even colder, this weather is murder on biz not only at gyms but other places. I opened up my place 3 hrs ago and have had 3 members so far which is 3 more than I expected.

damn bro! sometimes opening up isn't worth the electric used lol

I used to work out after work around 6:00 pm, and the resolutioners would swarm the gym and wouldn't drop off for a couple of months. Only this last year did I make the switch to working out at 5:30 AM, and I have been happily surprised this year that the resolutioners don't like coming in at that time. We had maybe a slight increase at the beginning of the year, but they have already dropped out. I guess they don't like morning hours as much, lol!
